LOVE Island fans think they have worked out the real reason that Elma Pazar tried to bury the hatchet with Curtis Pritchard just one day before the final.
The pair came to blows in explosive scenes on the ITV2 dating show with Elma explicitly saying days ago that she would never forgive Curtis or give him an apology for their clash.
Curtis' partner Ekin-Su was left angry that Elma told Curtis to "f*** off" during a spat with Elma refusing to say sorry.
However, out of nowhere, she appeared to have a sudden change of heart just one day before the show's final and she made a heartfelt plea to Curtis as she apologised for her behaviour.
But fans think it was all part of a calculated move after they noticed the 'real reason' she said sorry.
They have speculated that Elma has gone into panic mode after her 'downfall' from favourite girl status.
Earlier in the series, Elma was picked by the public as top girl but during the latest vote, she found herself comfortably sitting in the bottom half.
Days before discovering her downfall, Elma's row with Ekin-Su and Curtis played out for all to see.
Now, fans have suggested that Elma has realised that the public are on the side of Ekin and Curtis after they found themselves in the top three couples as voted for by the public.
With Elma remaining in the villa thanks to a 6-5 vote against Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint, viewers think her decision to apologise was a calculated move to get back on the good side of Ekin and Curtis and their fanbase and a final bid to take the crown on the show.
Ekin was one of the show's most popular winners and overtaking Elma in the popularity stakes of this series appeared to have the TOWIE star rattled.
Writing online, one fan said: "Nah not Elma coming to apologise cos she was vulnerable and knows she’s no longer the favourite girl."
Another added: "Oh Elma’s ready to apologise now… talk about timing."
A third went on to write: "Elma is giving this apology because she knows she’s not headgirl anymore."
Whilst a fourth penned: "Elma saying sorry to Curtis one day before the final…… calculated."
Before a fifth chimed in to say: "Wow Elma. How convenient, now you got voted and Ekin / Curtis didnt, you now apologising haha !"
