Flowers have been one of my passions for my entire life,” says TV personality and restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump, who recently partnered with Kroger grocery stores on a debut floral collection (vanderpumpblooms.com). The Vanderpump Blooms x Bloom Haus Valentine’s Day offerings ($49.99 bouquets and $59.99 arrangements through Feb. 15) reflect her over-the-top aesthetic — from the Signature Pink (a vibrant mix of pink and lavender flowers including carnations, roses, gerberas and calla lilies) to the Crimson Indulgence (a rich red, burgundy and purple array of roses, carnations, chrysanthemums and more). She notes, “It has been a dream to work with Kroger and create something beautiful!”
How would you describe your aesthetic with flowers?
I am a maximalist, and I love stunning arrangements that create focal points in my home and businesses. They truly change a space, and are essential parts of my vision when it comes to decor. They’ve been proven to change people’s moods and make people happier and more relaxed, and I can attest to that. I feel such a sense of happiness when I have flowers around me!
What was your process in curating the bouquets?
It was important to me to have bouquets that could be accessible to everyone. My designs span a variety of different colors and aesthetics — pale blush, white, dark beautiful reds, my signature pink. Every one has something unusual, unique and sexy about it. I am a hoarder and love collecting, so the custom vases were an essential part of this collaboration — they’re pieces that can be collected and kept forever.
How did you come up with the Valentine’s Day Crimson Indulgence and Signature Pink?
You can’t go wrong with a stunning, rich, beautiful red bouquet for Valentine’s Day — it’s the symbol of love, passion and devotion. The lush roses and greens are the perfect way to spoil your lover! And my Signature Pink is the perfect selection for expressing love and affection.
What are your favorite ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
I love spending [it] with my little furry lovers … and Ken, of course. E.baldi is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. I am there regularly and have great respect for them as the food is so consistently good. Also, Mr. Chow — it’s always epic, and they’re great friends.
What can viewers expect from the Vanderpump Rules reboot and second season of Vanderpump Villa?
The new Vanderpump Rules is very difficult to predict. But the complications of staff working together in a restaurant is always entertaining. Vanderpump Villa is extraordinarily complicated this year: it’s very quick, fast, funny and naughty. All the components that you need for a great reality show — plus the visual beauty of being in a castle in Europe. It was an epic summer and it’s going to be an epic show.
