After giving back her diamond, Lisa Rinna isn’t holding back when it comes to sharing details about her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills days — especially when it comes to that fight with Kim Richards.
“I went across the table, and I about strangled her,” Rinna, 61, recalled during the first episode of her “Let’s Not Talk About the Husband” podcast on Friday, February 14. “In my mind, when I was across the table — because it happened so quickly — I said to myself, you will go to jail in Amsterdam. Do not touch her.”
She added, “So, I pull back, and that’s when I am filled with energy and anger. I take the wine glass and smash it.”
The former Bravo star launched her podcast alongside husband Harry Hamlin on Friday. Within the first five minutes, listeners were graced with behind-the-scenes details of the iconic RHOBH season 5 dinner in Amsterdam, which she called “culmination of some high-intensity” issues between the women.
“We fly to Amsterdam and there was weirdness on the plane,” Rinna recalled. “I was getting some cold shoulder vibes from Kim Richards. You’re flying all day and you’re all together. So, I could tell that there was something brewing.”
Rinna said that the infamous fight between her and Richards took place “five minutes into the dinner.” She added, “We hadn’t ordered drinks, we had not ordered dinner.”
RHOBH fans will remember what Rinna explained next. Richards “started to insinuate that there was some big, dark secret” about Hamlin.
“She is insinuating that you had done something horrible,” Rinna continued during Friday’s podcast episode. Hamlin chimed in, adding, “So what did Harry do?”
“She said, ‘Let’s not talk about the husband,’ like insinuating that I had gone out and f—ed everybody in sight,” he continued. “All these people that I was supposedly having it off with, but it sounds like fun, but I didn’t have any.”
Hamlin also weighed in on the “rage” his wife felt toward Richards in that moment.
“You actually broke a wine glass. I’ve seen that, and it’s, like, hard to believe that little Lisa Rinna from Medford, Oregon did such a bold thing at that moment. But you did,” he said. “It was in defense of me, I presume.”
Rinna explained that during the season, producers discovered that Hamlin was her “hot button topic,” and that’s how the incident occurred.
“That’s what those producers are so f—ing good with. They’re evil geniuses and they can get in there and figure out, OK, this is what you need to do, Kim. You need to go and say this to Rinna and she will f—ing lose it,” Rinna speculated. “And guess what? That’s what happened.”
Season 5 was Rinna’s first RHOBH season and she stayed on the show until season 12 in 2022. She offered more details about her exit during Friday’s podcast, revealing that “the fanbase and where it went” became the “biggest reason” she left.
“They turned on you,” Hamlin noted. Rinna added, “It’s not worth it.”
