RHOSLC's Lisa Barlow on Cast's Gang-Up, Whitney Rose Feud, and Paving the Way for Mormon-Centered Shows, Plus Biggest Misconception, Jack's Mission and If Henry Will Follow, Her Lawyers and Security Team, and Dream RHUGT Cast

Lisa Barlow is sharing why she believes she’s been targeted by her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City castmates throughout the series’ currently airing fifth season.

While also addressing her ongoing feud with Whitney Rose, 38, the Mormon-based shows that have popped up since the debut of RHOSLC, and the biggest misconception about the religion, Lisa, 39, offered an update on her sons, Jack, 20, and Henry, 12, spoke of her lawyers and security, and more.

“They read what’s on Twitter, they read what’s online, and they’re like, ‘Oh, this is how these people are perceiving Lisa.’ So they double down on something like, ‘Oh, you’re a narcissist,'” Lisa explained of the cast’s gang-up to Us Weekly on November 18.  “I just defend myself. I can admit when I’m wrong.”

Although Whitney, 38, has accused Lisa of lying about starting rumors about her business, Lisa has denied any such thing — and she won’t be issuing an apology anytime soon.

“I’m not gonna cop to something I didn’t do. And I think that that’s hard for them,” she said.

Throughout her time on the series, Lisa has stood by her convictions.

“I’m not wishy-washy. I listen to the facts. I formulate my opinions based on hearing both sides … I use my intuition and figure things out,” she explained.

Regarding the recent interest in Mormonism with shows like The Secret Live of Mormon Wives, Lisa said it was “cool” that she paved the way.

“The fact that I was able to help bring the franchise here, I think, is really cool. I think it opened the doors in everyone’s mind to this culture that they had no idea about,” she stated.

When asked about the biggest misconception about Mormons, Lisa clarified that there’s no “checklist to go to church.”

“I don’t have to be a perfect person to go to church. I think church is for imperfect people, and I think that they put this idea on [RHOSLC] that you have to be perfect. And I think their degree of perfect is just being better than their neighbor,” Lisa noted.

After studying the religion himself, Lisa’s oldest son, Jack, went on a mission to Columbia. And, as noted by Lisa, his younger brother Henry will likely follow his lead.

“I think Henry watching Jack go on his mission, is like, ‘I’m all about the mission.’ He’s like, ‘I’ll probably go on a mission.’ We’ve never put pressure on our kids to feel like they have to go,” she explained. “Watching Jack, it’s been amazing. He’s matured so much. I think he has next-level gratitude … It’s been a great experience for him. And he is doing a ton of service … He’s just working really hard.”

As for her own work, Lisa admitted she interacts with “way more than six” lawyers and has her own security.

“You need lawyers for different things … We have a full import company that we have in Manhasset, New York. I don’t think people realize how many lawyers you have to have; you need a lawyer for everything. I don’t sign a contract, I don’t commit to anything without a lawyer,” she reasoned.

As for her security, Lisa said she has a “great” team.

“If [husband John Barlow]’s going on a trip to Mexico and needs a detail, he has someone from [our guy] Shawn’s team go with him. If someone’s sending me nasty emails and we need to know where they’re coming from, we get Shawn and he gets his people involved,” she revealed.

Although she and Meredith Marks, 52, have had their fair share of ups and downs on RHOSLC, Lisa was happy to report that all is well between them these days.

“She’s my bestie. Look at, I have my Meredith Marks jewelry on,” she shared.

As fans will recall, Lisa infamously went on a rant against Meredith in what was one of the franchise’s most memorable hot mic moments. Looking back, Lisa said she still “disputes” the ordeal.

“I know I took my mic off, like, I know it was off. They said it was a good boom,” she explained.

Still, Lisa confirmed, “I don’t vent out loud anymore. I just say everything in my head.”

Also during the interview, after joking that she could follow up her rendition of “Away in a Manger” with her very own Housewives single, Lisa shared who she’d want on her potential Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip cast.

“[Sutton Stracke] is like really, really funny. And I think she just says whatever comes to her head … And then her bestie [Garcelle Beauvais], I think she would be a lot of fun too … Lisa Hochstein from Miami. Like I love her. I think she’s so funny … I’d probably put Ashley Darby on … Ashley’s a cool girl. She’s a great mom … I would probably pick [Erin Lichy] and I love [Sai De Silva], I think she is really, really cool and really bold … and I do think Rebecca Minkoff is a really cool girl too. She’s fun … Then from my cast, I’d bring Meredith,” Lisa revealed.
