The Detroit Lions player who suffered a serious injury against the Atlanta Falcons, Morice Norris, is speaking out.
It was a scary scene during the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons preseason game on Friday, August 8. The game came to a stop after Lions defensive back Morice Norris suffered a serious injury, which appeared to even be life-threatening.

Norris’ injury happened during the fourth quarter of the game, when he attempted to make a tackle on a Falcons player. As the play went on, his head snapped back and he fell to the ground, seeming lifeless. He wasn’t able to get up, so he was carried off on a stretcher and taken off the football field in an ambulance.

It was the scary end to what would have otherwise been a good game for the Lions. Now, Norris is sending out a message to those worried about him and sending him their prayers.

Norris felt the love from his teammates and those in the Lions community around the world. In a post on his Instagram stories on Saturday, August 9, he sent a spiritual two-word message to his followers: “Amen, amen.”

His full message read, “Amen Amen. I’m all good man don’t stress it appreciate all the check ins and love.”

It’s great to hear directly from Norris that he’s doing well. Judging by that play on the field, it could have gone either way.

Also on Saturday, the Lions organization sent out an update on Morris. It was good news about his recovery.

“Morice Norris is in stable condition and has feeling and movement in all his extremities,” the Lions stated on X. “He will remain at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta overnight for observation.” They added, “We would like to thank the Atlanta Falcons organization, the EMS team at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the doctors and staff at Grady for their support.”

Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons Coaches Open Up About Game
Speaking to reporters after the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell opened up about the injury and also sang the praises of Falcons coach Raheem Morris. He said that the two coaches were able to handle the situation the right way and did it with class.

“He’s the ultimate class act,” Campbell said. “So, you know, we agreed that it just didn’t feel right to finish that game. That man is a class act. Always has been.”

He added, “The silver lining is now the brotherhood. To see all those guys from that team, our team kind of come together, and everybody is thinking about another player. Just means a lot, you know.”

After the game, Morris also talked about the horrible injury and the game itself. He said emotions were high.

“They’re so emotional about the game, they’re so emotional about what we do, and they were all — I got a lot of respect for the other players in this game,” Morris said about the Lions. “And that was the ultimate show of it by the teams right there. And you just got to pray for Morice Norris and his family.”
