The Detroit Lions got a big surprise this past weekend as the Washington Commanders knocked off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, setting the stage for a Saturday night showdown against rookie star Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.
The Lions' franchise has a chance to atone for its last NFC Championship Game loss prior to last season, when they lost to the then-Washington Redskins in 1991 by a score of 41-10.
That game cost the Lions a trip to the Super Bowl, but coach Dan Campbell's team's 'Super Bowl or bust' mentality has fans hoping for a big win over the Commanders this weekend.

On Monday, Campbell was asked about the Lions' perceived struggles in stopping running quarterbacks.
He had a four-word response when asked about it, as shared by Lions beat reporter Kory Woods on X.
"Tell me who does (handle running quarterbacks well)," Campbell reportedly said.
Last season, the Lions gave up 48 yards on five carries to 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy in the NFC Championship Game in San Francisco.
With what figures to be a raucous home crowd at Ford Field in downtown Detroit and the recent return of speedy linebacker Alex Anzalone, the Lions will have plenty of factors in their favor against the Commanders, including playoff experience, as they seek to stop one of the most dynamic young players to hit the league in years.
