The Detroit Lions have a couple of stars they're expected to work on extensions for this offseason and one of those stars, Kerby Joseph, revealed that he wants to spend his career with the team.
The Detroit Lions have some big contract negotiations coming up this offseason with a couple of the stars of their strong 2022 draft class.
The team has the option to keep Aidan Hutchinson locked up on his rookie deal for a couple of more seasons thanks to the fifth-year option, but they're likely to try and get an extension done now before he becomes any more expensive.
There is much more of a rush for their other big negotiation. Kerby Joseph is currently set to play the 2025 season on the final year of his rookie deal.
Joseph is coming off of the best season of his NFL career and has formed one of the league's best safety duos with Brian Branch.

His extension is sure to be an expensive one, but there is at least one thing working in the Lions' favor as they prepare to negotiate. Joseph wants to be in Detroit.
During a recent appearance on "The Jim Rome Show", Joseph told Rome that he wants to be a "lifelong Lion".
Joseph has been an absolute steal for the Lions since they selected him late in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
He racked up exactly 82 total tackles and four interceptions in each of his first two NFL seasons.
Then he put together a dominant 2024 season. He led the NFL with nine interceptions and added 12 passes defended while holding opposing QBs to a completion percentage of 44.2% when they threw in his direction.
Joseph was also a part of 83 total tackles.
His breakout season earned him a spot on the All-Pro First Team and sixth place in the Defensive Player of the Year voting.
While speaking to Rome, he also revealed that he believes he is the NFL's best safety.
He's sure to be paid like one of the league's best at the position whenever he is able to reach an agreement on an extension with the Lions and they certainly wouldn't mind him spending his whole career with the organization.
