Lindsay Hubbard has officially been a mom to her daughter, Gemma Britt Kufe, for a little more than a month. The Summer House cast member and her mystery boyfriend welcomed their daughter into the world on Dec. 8, 2024, and they've been over the moon ever since, even though the pregnancy came as a bit of a surprise, according to the new mom.
Lindsay finally opened up about those very early days of her pregnancy and shared new details about her boyfriend in a Jan. 14 interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. Lindsay revealed on the podcast that she was not on birth control before getting pregnant. "It's just not my thing," she explained. "It doesn't work well with my body."
After initially getting together with her boyfriend in January 2024, Lindsay and her partner had a conversation about her not being on birth control in February 2024. By March she was pregnant. "And by April, I found out and I had been five weeks pregnant when I found out," she said.
This was an "oh s--t" moment for her, she explained. "Like, I had just started dating my boyfriend and was like, oh God, like, we have only been dating for a couple of months and now I'm pregnant."
Lindsay Hubbard was "terrified" to tell her boyfriend she was pregnant
Days after finding out her big news, Lindsay headed to Mexico (alone) for her best friend's wedding. Lindsay was eager to tell her boyfriend that they were expecting when she got back, but she was also a little scared. "I was terrified," she explained. "I was terrified that weekend because in my mind, I was like, ah, we have such a beautiful relationship and this is going to rock everything. And I don't know how he's going to react."
After arriving back in NYC from Mexico past midnight, Lindsay told her boyfriend that she was pregnant while they were lying in bed together. She recalled, "I think he probably held his breath for a little while and then was like, 'Uh,' and I was like, 'Yeah, we should talk about this.'"
Lindsay Hubbard says she's "not looking to get married" to her boyfriend after baby
These conversations included the couple talking through a "bunch of things," like their future together. But, Lindsay was not looking to rush things, especially after she found out she was pregnant less than a year after her engagement ended to Summer House cast member, Carl Radke.
"Immediately, I was like, 'Look, I am not looking for a proposal. I'm not looking to get married.' It is actually the last thing on my mind," she explained. "And I was like, I'm not looking to move in together either.' We can figure that out. I wanted to take everything off the table.
How did Lindsay Hubbard meet her boyfriend?
During the podcast, Lindsay revealed that she had actually met her mystery boyfriend through a mutual friend for the first time in 2020, a few months after breaking up with her then-boyfriend, Stephen "Stravy" Traversie. "We went on three or four dates," she explained. "And then he broke things off with me because he just wasn't in a place to be in a relationship and he didn't want to waste my time."
They then reconnected in December 2023, went on their first date in January 2024, and were "official" by March.
Are Lindsay Hubbard and her boyfriend living together?
Lindsay has been very open about the fact that her boyfriend has not yet moved in to her NYC apartment or vice versa. But, he spends plenty of time with her and the new baby at her place, which she now calls "Gemma HQ." "He's been glued to my hip basically since a month before giving birth. He's been staying at my apartment," she said.
But, she's "not scared" to take the next step to ask him to move in. "It just was like, I had just resigned my lease, then found out I was pregnant, then didn't want to put the pressure on," she said. "And like, what I've learned, especially from my past relationship, is that nothing's guaranteed. It's not even guaranteed when you're married. So I'm not like desperate or dying to move in with a boyfriend until I figure out that's what I want to do."
