LeSean McCoy feels Dak Prescott’s injury won’t affect Cowboys’ season because it was “already over”

Former Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy blasted the Dallas Cowboys in his latest ‘The Facility’ appearance. The 36-year-old wrote off the Cowboys for the season as America’s team stands 3-5 so far.

LeSean McCoy argued that Cowboys’ season had been over before Dak Prescott sustained a hamstring injury in the game against Atlanta Falcons. The Cowboys, looking to bounce back after a loss against the San Francisco 49ers, will continue with replacement Cooper Rush for the ongoing season as Prescott might not play for weeks.

There has been talks revolving around how the absence of a high-profile player would affect Cowboys in the long run. It is generally considered that Cowboys aren’t making the playoffs without Prescott at the helm. However, McCoy has an alternative opinion on the situation.

Him injured it doesn’t matter for the Cowboys. He’s been bad all season… I’m not about to let y’all sit up here and act like the season is so over now that Dak is hurt. It’s been a wrap when he was healthy.

LeSean McCoy said

McCoy has previously thrown shade at Prescott multiple times. Recently, McCoy and fellow former Eagles player DeSean Jackson took jabs at Prescott in a Smack Talk battle while speaking to Fox News Digital.

In early 2024, McCoy invited some negative attention when he called the player an a**. Although he later apologized, McCoy took another jab right before the season began, arguing that Prescott is not tough enough.

Dak Prescott was extended for $240 million over the next four years in the offseason. The deal positioned him as the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback in terms of average annual salary at $60 million per season. However, Prescott has encountered a challenging start to the 2024 season, recording eight interceptions and only 11 touchdown passes over eight games.

Dallas Cowboys place faith in Cooper Rush

It has been a wild season for the Cowboys. After a first week win, the team didn’t see much progress. The “America’s team” is fodder for media since the start, which at one point prompted Cam Newton to criticize ESPN.

Cooper Rush

From a former player calling the team “lazy” to crazy helicopter landings, Dallas Cowboys has had it all in 2024. The latest Prescott injury adds to the long list of their woes. Despite these painful times, there’s still some hope in the Texan squad.

The backup QB Cooper Rush has been praised by teammates on offense and defense alike as they prepare for hard battles. WR CeeDee Lamb acknowledged Rush’s abilities while pushing for hope.

We know what Coop can do. The confidence is still there. Stand in there and deliver.

Micah Parsons also echoed Lamb’s comments. He admitted that he expects a deep run this season with Rush in the center. Parsons claimed that Rush has a lot of talent, and he knows how to play ball. Rush, who gets his seventh career start against the Philadelphia Eagles this week, will try to keep his winning record (5-1) intact.
