Las Vegas Raiders predicted to be suitor for $60 million wide receiver - suong

Why 2024′s Chris Godwin may be the best version yet for BucsAfter the Raiders traded away Davante Adams, the cupboard is bare at wide receiver, as the team lacks depth and a true No. 1. That's something that has to change if Las Vegas ends up coming away with a young quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.

One potential option for Las Vegas will be Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin, who is in the final year of a three-year, $60 million deal. Bleacher Report's Krisopher Knox believes the Raiders could be players for Godwin in free agency next offseason.

"The Raiders will, presumably, target a new quarterback in the offseason. They'll also want to bolster their receiving corps after trading Davante Adams to the Jets," Knox wrote.

While Godwin isn't your prototypical No. 1 wide receiver, he's better than anything the Raiders have on paper right now. And, he's a slot receiver and can offer a great security blanket for a young signal-caller.

That said, Godwin comes with injury risk, and that doesn't figure to get any better as he approaches the age of 29. After suffering a torn ACL in 2021, Godwin went down with a dislocated ankle this season.

That injury history and his age will be troublesome for interested parties, but that may also lead to him being cheap. Of course, it's very possible the Bucs will want to bring him back, but it's also possible the cash-strapped Bucs will want to replace him with a younger, cheaper option.
