Would Vanderpump Rules (as we knew it) still exist if Lala Kent hadn’t gone off on Ariana Madix at the season 11 finale party?
During an Amazon Live, Lala admitted it’s crossed her mind!
Did Lala cause the VPR recast?
“I do often wonder if I would’ve kept my mouth shut — like, if a producer wouldn’t have stepped in and told me that I’m allowed to say the things that I said off-camera about filming — if the show would’ve been able to go on. Or if I was just the final nail in the coffin. I guess we’ll never know.”
“I’ve spoken about this many times, so I apologize if I’m boring you,” but “I felt like I started mourning Vanderpump Rules the moment I purged on that finale. So, not only did I know it was coming to an end after that, but I [felt] like the moment we started filming season 11, it was going to be the last.”
“It just felt like there was nothing — it was broken. It was very broken. So I feel OK with it. I feel very much at peace.”
Green with envy?
Lala explained her POV from that moment during the reunion. “I was livid and I am sorry if I hurt” Ariana. “But, I stand by what I said [during the finale].”
“Why does she get to dictate how this goes down when I’ve never gotten to dictate,” asked Lala.
Never forget, Lala went on the record saying she loved her dad more than Ariana loved hers because she handled herself so much more poorly after his death.
Lala recalled, “When my dad died and I was acting out, Ariana sat me down and said, ‘When my dad died, this is what happened and how the group treated me.’ She’s showing me a window into what this looks like with this group.”
“She may not have been as close with her dad as I was with my dad. No one situation is the same.”
Speaking of Lala begrudging her former cast mates …
When Lala learned Katie Maloney was dating rock singer Nick Martin (who is getting a divorce), the mother of two bitterly reminded her podcast listeners of the double standard between her and the other women on VPR.
Nick Martin “is going through a messy divorce or something, and they gotta keep it quiet,” popped off Lala. “I’m like, ‘This is something I was called a ‘wh*re’ in the back of a back alley for. But, who’s remembering?!?!”
