Though The Valley's Jax Taylor denied claims he body shamed estranged wife Brittany Cartwright throughout their marriage, Lala Kent begged to differ — and that wasn't all she had to get off her chest.
After Brittany shared during The Valley After Show for Season 2, Episode 2 that Jax had insulted her looks in front of friends, Lala chimed in, "Yeah, I can't even imagine what he would say to you behind closed doors."
As Brittany alleged in the After Show clip above, things actually were worse in private, and her ex also tried to make her believe that she didn't have "any real friends" in order to prevent her from venting to somebody and spoiling the facade of a blissful relationship.
"Jax liked our marriage and stuff to look so happy and so good and [like] I would never leave him," she explained.
The Vanderpump Rules cast member backed Brittany's statement, adding, "You've all seen his Instagram. Just doing dad stuff. When the wife needs ya to move the lawn... Like, f--k off, please."
Brittany also pointed out that Jax "knows how to charm people" and "say all the right things" publicly, prompting Lala to say, "Of course he does. … The narcissist does wonders when he's on display."
Lala Kent detailed the toll Jax Taylor took on Brittany Cartwright's health
According to Brittany, the way Jax would "talk about how amazing [she] was" in public, but then "come home that very same day and tear [her] to pieces" began "really wearing on" her.
She elaborated that "holding in everything that he was doing" ultimately led to her "throwing up all the time" and breaking out in hives "every day for an entire year."
Lala also recalled that time period, asking her friend, "Remember when you broke out in hives and then the left side of your body was completely numb, and you had to go to the hospital?"
"Yeah, and they said they couldn't figure out anything that was wrong, other than stress," the mom to 4-year-old Cruz Cauchi replied. "I don't do that anymore. And it's because I don't live with him anymore."
Lala Kent shared her theory on Jax Taylor's behavior
Elsewhere on the After Show, Brittany revealed that Jax "always kind of" acted that way towards her, but their relationship "definitely got worse," later on.
That's when Lala gave her theory on the situation: "I feel like, at the beginning, he was kind of trying to get you used to his behavior. That's kind of what they do is they, like, kind of, like, slow-roll it, so that you take one thing and you're like, 'OK, that wasn't so bad.' And then by the time you're where you are now, you're like, 'How did I let all of that slide?'"
Referencing critics who say she "shouldn’t bash the father" of her child, Brittany insisted that she was "just speaking the truth," to which Lala replied, "You're allowed to speak on your own experience. This is how someone affected you."
As Lala summed up, it's Jax who "should've thought" about not giving her "anything to talk about" in the first place. Plus, as she put it, "I’m totally down for bashing the baby daddies."
How Jax Taylor defended himself against claims he body-shamed Brittany Cartwright
In his own separate After Show appearance, Jax admitted to saying "mean things" to Brittany, but thought some of his comments might have been misconstrued.
"That's gonna happen in any relationship," he reasoned. "But as far as attacking her body, no. I love the way she looks. That's the one thing that I love about her."
After Tom Schwartz suggested that Brittany might have receipts or screenshots — which Kristen Doute and Jasmine Goode both claimed they'd seen, by the way — Jax pointed to his ex's "big team" of "girl power," accusing them of having a tendency to fabricate stories "to fit their narrative" when they "get angry."
