Lala Kent is the second Vanderpump Rules alum to react to the revelation that Brock Davies cheated on Scheana Shay.
During the Monday, July 14, episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast, Kent, 34, was asked whether she knew about Davies’ affair — which happened in 2021 when Shay was pregnant with their daughter, Summer — before the excerpt from Shay’s upcoming memoir, My Good Side, was released on Thursday, July 10.
“Yes, I did. But not for a while. So that [excerpt] came out and Scheana called me and said, ‘I just want to give you the heads-up that tomorrow this article is coming out with the excerpt. And I may need to tap you in. I’m very nervous,’” Kent recalled. “I won’t share exactly what she said on the phone because that’s between her and her husband. But I thought the excerpt that was pulled from her book was beautifully written. Well done.”
Kent noted that she has “had time to process” the revelation that Davies was unfaithful to Shay, 40.
“Not that that matters. I’m not in the relationship. Brock has always been tremendous — well, not always, we’ve had our ups and downs and I’ve said some things to him and called out some red flags to me — but since then, what I have watched is him being a great father to Summer Moon,” she said. “I’ve seen him with [my daughters] Ocean and Sosa. I just find him to be a very hands-on and great dad.”
While addressing the surprising news, Kent acknowledged that people will “say whatever they want” about Davies — and his past.
“I certainly did. What I know about life is it doesn’t always go as we planned. There are a million moments that I look back on in my own life and go, ‘Damn, if I could get a redo I would really do that differently.’ I know for a fact he feels that way,” she continued. “This is my own opinion.”
Shay and Davies started dating in 2019 and got engaged two years later. The couple, who share 4-year-old daughter Summer, exchanged vows in 2022, which was documented on Vanderpump Rules.The reality show also addressed Davies’ tumultuous coparenting relationship with his ex, with whom he shares two kids, Winter and Eli.
In the Glamour excerpt of the book, Shay wrote that she “remained in a state of paralyzed shock” when Davies confessed he cheated.
“As I sat there, feeling completely sick to my stomach, he admitted that — at the time — he was scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else,” she writes.
Shay admitted she was “unable to contain my rage” that Davies had a “brief affair” with a woman at his gym in 2021.“I slapped him and threw a Rubik’s cube in his direction, which he dodged,” she wrote. “To this day, every time I see a Rubik’s cube it triggers me, pulling me right back to this incredibly dark moment in my life. Same goes for any mention of an F45 gym.”
She continued: “That same night, Brock gave me a letter that he’d written a year after the affair ended. He wrote the letter, which included more specifics than I ever wanted, such as how many times they’d slept together, where they’d done it, and where they hadn’t (our house). He also pointed out that it was purely physical, never emotional, and he always used protection. Gee, thanks!”
Kent praised Shay for making the decision that made sense for her marriage.
“For me, the moment that you find out that your person has cheated on you — if you decide to stay — that is you forgiving that person and you have to find a way to move on from it,” she added on Monday. “You cannot hold it over their head forever. I’m not saying that Scheana is doing that. This is just me talking. I know that I’m the type of person that would hold it over your head for the rest of your life.”
