Kyle Richards is explaining why she sent a text to Paul “PK” Kemsley about keeping his secrets amid his separation from Dorit Kemsley.

After Kyle, 56, read the message to her co-stars on Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, confirming that she told PK, 57, she would be there for him if he needed her and making it clear that she would never repeat something he told her, despite having claimed they only sent one another memes, she offered some context behind the message as her co-stars weighed in.

“Forget how it could be seen or what the audience may think or how it could be interpreted. Everybody here regardless of if we’re having an argument or we don’t get along, everybody here knows my character and they know I’m not that person,” Kyle noted on the January 14 episode of the RHOBH: After Show.

According to Kyle, she sent the message to PK shortly after Dorit leaked her text message at the season 13 reunion in an effort to make it seem as if Kyle attempted to silence her about their falling out.

“So I’m thinking, I don’t know who anyone thinks they can trust around here right now. I also wanna be like, ‘l’m someone who doesn’t repeat things.’ [And] this is the first time that there was something major going on in [PK’s] life that he would be nervous it would get out there,” she explained. “So that’s why I said it then. It wasn’t like I’d been saying this for years.”

After Erika Jayne, 53, noted that she “[hates]” text messages because they can be taken out of context and said she knew what Kyle “meant in that moment,” Sutton Stracke, 53, suspected Kyle simply wanted “to get things off her chest” because she was “conflicted” and “scared” after Dorit targeted her at the reunion.

“Kyle’s not one to tell friends’ secrets. Kyle can be very private and will hold things,” she stated. “She’s not that person and so she felt very exploited by Dorit when Dorit did that to her. She’s letting PK know in that moment, ‘I’m not gonna say anything. We’re friends. You can trust me. We can talk and it’s our private conversation.’”

Meanwhile, Garcelle Beauvais, 58, shared that it took her a minute to realize what was actually included in Kyle’s message to PK.

“It didn’t dawn on me until I laid in the bed that night and I ran that through my head and I go, wait, did she say, ‘I’ve never said anything you’ve said to me and I never will,’ which made it sound like they talked about things that maybe Dorit doesn’t know?” Garcelle recalled. “No one asked her to read that by the way, she volunteered to read that that night. No one asked her to read it. [And] I think she wouldn’t have read it if she didn’t think it was innocent, except for what the text said.”

Jennifer Tilly, 66, also weighed in, noting that Kyle and PK were clearly communicating “in more than memes.”

“I think [Kyle] goes between wanting to be really close to the girls and perhaps not trusting them. She wants to keep people at an arm’s length, but she really does need her friends now more than ever, so she really sort of vacillates between the two,” Jennifer reasoned.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
