Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards has been on a journey of self-discovery. In 2022, she was shattered when her best friend, Lorene Shea, committed suicide. Then in 2023, she split from her husband, Mauricio Umansky. Now Kyle is addressing why she returned for Season 14 of RHOBH, and why she almost walked away from the show.

Rumors were floating around that Kyle’s co-stars allegedly were “sick of her whining.” For her part, Kyle denied the reports. “Even though I’ve had some moments this season with some people, they were supportive,” she said.
Then, Kyle addressed why she nearly didn’t return to RHOBH for Season 14. “These last two years have been the most difficult of my life and I didn’t want to put myself through the scrutiny,” Kyle told US Weekly. “I didn’t feel supported by a lot of the cast, so I felt like I wanted to disappear for a while.”
However, Kyle changed her mind. “We have a lot of fun times, too, and the producers are family to me at this point, so I knew that would be another loss for me. My husband was just about to move out,” she explained. Still, the season wasn’t smooth sailing for Kyle. In fact, she nearly left the show.
“I had a meltdown. My first in 14 years,” Kyle explained. “I was like, ‘I don’t think I can physically do this anymore.’ I walked off the set and didn’t shoot the next day.” She continued, “I was at my breaking point. I have so much on my plate, and some of the women just push.” No words on who might have pushed Kyle too far.
“I needed that break. I think they saw [I was] really struggling and were reaching out to me,” Kyle said. “They actually helped me get through the rest of the season.”
Of course, right now Kyle is dealing with some family issues. Her sister, and RHOBH alum Kim Richards, is reportedly struggling with her sobriety. Kyle acknowledged that the hardest things she has endured while filming is, “The stuff with my sisters. My family comes with some drama. Being on TV, you don’t have the luxury of choosing what you show,” she told US Weekly.
In the meantime, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock.
