Kyle Richards Says Dorit Kemsley Friendship Hit ‘High Note’ in ‘RHOBH’ Season 14 After Past Issues
Ups and downs! Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards is sharing an update on where her friendship with Dorit Kemsley stands in season 14.
“It has been bumpy. You will definitely see that throughout the season, but I think we ended on a high note, and I do think we’ll keep pushing forward,” the Halloween star, 55, exclusively tells Life & Style in an interview ahead of the RHOBH season 14 premiere on Tuesday, November 19. “There’s a lot of love there!”
Dorit, 48, agrees that her friendship with Kyle “took a bumpy turn,” noting that it did so “a long time ago.” However, she adds, “This season you’re just seeing us face the issues that we’ve had for a while now. What I hope for Kyle and I in the future is that we can overcome our issues and that we both want a stronger friendship.”
Fans caught a glimpse of the bumpy road Kyle teased in the trailer for season 14. One scene showed the Bravolebrities getting into a heated argument at a cast dinner party.
“God gave you two ears and one mouth for a reason, can you let me talk?” Kyle said.
Dorit replied, “It’s OK, Kyle, it’s time for you to f–king listen.”
Kyle, who has been on RHOBH since the show’s premiere in 2010, and Dorit, who joined the reality show during season 7 in 2016, have been friends for most of their time together on the series. However, during the season 13 reunion, Dorit showed costar Erika Jayne a private text message from Kyle and asked for Erika’s opinion.
“There’s stuff with Kyle and I that’s going on and it hurts and bothers me the most,” Dorit said. “I haven’t heard from her in a couple of months. Then, she sends me a text yesterday, basically trying to silence me. It was so manipulative, it was so calculated.”
The moment seemingly catapulted Dorit and Kyle into a feud. However, the fashion designer told Deadline on November 14 that the drama between them began long before the text message flashed onscreen during the reunion.
“It’s very important to note that the issues in our friendship were a year or two on, and there was a series of events in that time, over a sustained period of time, that led me to feel like, ‘OK, I’m done. Enough is enough,’” Dorit explained. “Sharing the text message with Erika in my trailer was [me] confiding in a friend that I was feeling like one of my best friends was not even treating me as if we were friends any longer. So it was very justified in my mind.”
Throughout season 13, Dorit also expressed her frustrations with Kyle for making lifestyle changes and not being transparent about the status of her friendship/relationship with Morgan Wade.
As for how Erika, 53, felt about being in the middle of Dorit and Kyle’s feud, the singer told Deadline, “Well, look, I care about these women. They are my friends. They’re going through the worst time in their lives, so it was my goal was to be good to both of them and make it an easier time for them.”
Erika continued, “[But] ultimately, they have to talk to each other. I can only listen to each one of them for so long before they need to talk and work things out.”
