Kyle Richards is offering an update on where she stands with her sister, Kathy Hilton, and her friend, Lisa Rinna, following the messy 12th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Ahead of the series’ three-part reunion, Kyle confirmed things are “not great” between her and Kathy. Then, she opened up about the strained relationship she has with Rinna, who called Kathy out over the allegedly cruel rant she went on against Kyle and her family amid a supposed meltdown in Aspen on recent episodes of the show.
“Things are not great right now but I have high hopes that we’re family and we’ll always come back together,” Kyle said during an October 9 interview with E! News. “I don’t think people realize how much it affects my family and the relationships so, and I’d been holding that in for so long, and that’s why I felt so emotional [at the reunion].”
According to Kyle, she knew that filming the season 12 reunion was “not going to be easy.” But looking back, she said it was “absolutely [her] least favorite reunion” she’s done over the past 12 seasons of RHOBH.
“I think I’ve been holding a lot in so it was a very emotional reunion for me and I try not to even think about it because it was very difficult,” she noted.
While Kyle has remained close to Lisa in recent years, even after she went after her other sister, Kim Richards, during a season five trip to Amsterdam as a result of Kim’s suggestion that there was something going on with Harry Hamlin, their friendship isn’t currently in a good place.
“As we saw on the season finale of the show, relationships are definitely strained in the cast,” Kyle explained. “And things pretty much remain as you saw on the season finale. And then reunion, unfortunately, not much was really resolved… It was the first reunion that we left and we didn’t have drinks or dinner or do a group photo, or a hug or anything.”
“It was just done so I kind of was left with not a good feeling,” Kyle continued.
But while she “definitely” didn’t get a resolution with Kathy or Lisa amid their feud, Kyle said she did make good progress with Garcelle Beauvais.
“There was certain things that, I was able to talk through some things with Garcelle, which made me feel better, and some other moments, but my takeaway from it was that it was the most difficult one that I’ve ever done and that I wish it could’ve gone differently,” she added.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 reunion begins airing Wednesday, October 12, at 8/7c on Bravo.
