Kyle Richards "wasn't mad" when she saw photos of her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, kissing somebody else. She was, however, a bit taken aback.
"He’s allowed to do what he wants; I'm allowed to do what I want…" Kyle told Extra in an interview published on November 11. "Even though it was a little jarring, I wasn’t angry with him.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member has been estranged from The Agency founder since the summer of 2023. But while Kyle and Mauricio are free to do whatever they want in their respective personal lives, Kyle has chosen not to get back into dating yet.
"I would have to leave my house in order to do that," she joked to the outlet, noting that her desire not to date is "by choice."
"You will not see me on any dating apps," she added. "And people have tried to set me up, but I just have declined."
Where do Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky stand today?
Kyle and Mauricio may not be together, but they'll always be family.
"He's definitely one of my best friends, and I feel very proud of the way we've navigated through this situation. There was a lot of pressure from some of the women in the cast who I know were coming from a good place — although projecting from their own personal experiences..." Kyle told Extra, perhaps referring to the moment in the RHOBH Season 14 trailer when castmate Sutton Stracke advised Kyle to file for divorce.
Ultimately, Kyle said she still feels "a lot of trust" with her estranged husband.
Are Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky divorced?
More than a year after separating, neither Kyle nor Mauricio has made a move toward filing for divorce.
Kyle said that she "didn't feel any rush" to file. "I didn't really think there was a need to do that," she shared. "We've just been taking it at our own pace and what's worked for our family and, at the end of the day, that's what we are. We are family no matter what."
Elsewhere, in an appearance on the Housewives Nightcap podcast on November 11, Kyle elaborated on why she hasn't felt the need to formalize the split.
"It just hasn't felt like any reason, any pressing reason to. And it just, I don't know, feels big and dramatic," she said. "I wish I had a better answer because I actually don't.... I don't know, he moved out, and he does his thing, I do my thing..."
"I think that it's scary to do that, I guess," Kyle continued. "If I were to analyze this, it's just kind of scary. But, yeah, I don't know. I think I need a psychologist. All I have to think is we haven't had a 'Oh, we have to.' It's like, we have a big family together, we have homes."
If the time does come for her to file, Kyle assured fans that there won't be "any drama" between her and Mauricio.
