"Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky were accused of faking their separation to spark 'dramatic drama' on RHOBH, raising a series of questions"

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are being accused of faking their separation for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Months into their alleged split, which Mauricio, 53, seemingly denied just weeks ago on the Red Mic podcast before changing his tune days later, Kyle, 54, and her realtor spouse are facing claims of creating the “juicy” storyline, which is expected to be a focal point of season 13, in an effort to “save her spot” on the Bravo reality series.

In the trailer for the new season, Kyle’s castmates are seen reacting to the news of her marital drama with Mauricio, with Garcelle Beauvais, 56, asking, “If there was infidelity, would you say?”

“I don’t know,” Kyle admits.

Kyle is then questioned by Dorit Kemsley, 47, about Morgan Wade‘s “K” tattoo.

“You put the first letter of your name on her body. What is going on?” she wonders amid romance rumors linking Kyle to the 28-year-old country artist.

Then, after Sutton Stracke, 52, mentions the cheating rumors, saying, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” Kyle and Mauricio seemingly accuse each other of having affairs.

“I’m just glad it’s you out there having an affair,” Mauricio tells Kyle.

“For once it’s me,” she replies.

But is it all for the show? According to a new report, Kyle and Mauricio may have fabricated their supposed “rough year” for the cameras.

“If you know Kyle, you know that she just wanted a juicy storyline to save her spot on the Bravo series,” an insider claimed to Life & Style magazine in their latest issue. “She knows what she’s doing.”

Another factor in questioning the couple was Mauricio’s strong denial on the September 28 episode of the Red Mic podcast, during which he denied a separation by stating: “I mean, certainly, we’re not separated. We’re not divorced at this point. We are not any of that stuff.”

And then the very next day on September 29, Mauricio fully backtracked and confirmed the split to TMZ. “We are currently separated,” he told the outlet.

Also in the RHOBH trailer, Kyle is seen sitting down with her daughters, including Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, Alexia Umansky, 27, Sophia Umansky, 23, and Portia Umansky, 15, assuring them that they are a “very strong family” and “always will be.”

“Nothing can change that,” she insists.

As RHOBH fans may have seen, Kyle and Mauricio released a joint statement on Instagram following the initial news of their reported split in July.

“In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year,” they wrote. “The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 premieres on Wednesday, October 25, at 8/7c on Bravo.
