Find out what made Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's daughter Portia "upset" after completing her driver's test and passing it.
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s youngest child, Portia Umansky, officially passed her driver’s test. However, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills daughter must wait a few more weeks before she can hit the Golden State highways alone and there's a very important reason for it.
The bittersweet news was revealed as much in Sophia Umansky’s June 17 TikTok, where she documented her sibling’s eventful visit to their local DMV. “Come with us to the DMV to take Portia’s driving test,” she wrote at the beginning of the video.
Upon checking in for her test, Portia looked ecstatic in hopes of possibly earning her driver’s license. Shortly after, Sophia noted that “it’s happening” as Portia could be seen sitting in the driver’s seat of Kyle’s dark green Range Rover. The 16-year-old even waved her sister goodbye as she prepared to take the SUV onto the road to complete her skills test.
Moments later, Sophia showed a clip of Portia returning to the DMV to put the car in park before revealing that she had passed the test. Naturally, Portia was excited to find out she aced the test and even performed a little happy dance.
Unfortunately, Portia soon learned she wouldn't be receiving her driver's license since it had only been "five months" since she took her learner's permit exam. Her reaction to the news? "I'm literally fuming. I'm so upset, but I did pass..."
On the bright side, Portia can retake her driver's test next month, and if she passes, she'll get her license. As Sophia noted in her caption that perfectly summed up the situation, "Not every story has a happy ending."
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Details Portia’s driving lessons
Portia may not receive her license until July, but she can thank her family for teaching her how to drive safely. In January, Mauricio shared an Instagram Story of himself in a car with Portia behind the wheel. "Teaching this kid how to drive now!" the proud dad said in the clip. "Here we go!" He then quipped: "Scary!"
Moreover, in a February interview with The Daily Dish, Kyle opened up about her own experience being in the passenger seat while her youngest learned how to drive.
"That is very stressful for any mom," she said about Portia practicing. "She's extremely responsible, and she's doing great driving, [but] no matter what happens, it's really scary."
