Kristen Doute's Unconventional Move: Naming Her Baby Girl Pre-Pregnancy - Confessing the 'Weird' Sensation - lulu

Kristen Doute already had her baby girl's name picked out when she learned about her pregnancy.

The reality TV star, 42, who is currently pregnant with her first baby, spoke with PEOPLE at the season 2 premiere of The Valley on Thursday, April 10, in Sherman Oaks, Calif., and revealed that she and boyfriend Luke Broderick have already settled on a name for their daughter.

"She is named. She has been named since before we got pregnant, and of course, we had to revisit the name and make sure it did feel right, and it did," Doute tells PEOPLE. "And we've been calling her that, especially Luke in the beginning."

"It's a little weird for me, because I felt like he was talking to a plant, like saying her name, and be like, 'Oh, you're growing.' I was like, 'This is so weird, you're not here yet!' " she continues.

"But now it feels like she's a real baby now, just not out in the world yet," adds the mom-to-be.

Back in November, Doute shared exclusively with PEOPLE that she's expecting her first baby with Broderick after having an IUI (intrauterine insemination) procedure.

"The two weeks following the IUI procedure felt like years. To get a correct outcome on a pregnancy test, 2 weeks time had to pass and I had to wait it out but in my heart I knew it had worked. I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT result staring back at me," she said at the time.

"I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous. The second I told Luke, he wasn't surprised, but was SO happy that IUI worked the first time (we were prepared that it may not)," Doute explained. "He was joyful and beyond excited, to say the least! Our due date is in June and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!"

In December, Doute revealed that she's expecting a baby girl, telling PEOPLE that she and her boyfriend are "so excited" to have a daughter.

"Luke and I are so thrilled to be having a little girl, which honestly was unexpected because I was convinced we were having a boy!" Doute said to PEOPLE. "To find out in the way that we did, to have Brittany [Cartwright] be the one who shared the news from our doctor could not have been more perfect. It was really special to have our family and friends from out of town 'be there' virtually."

"We are so excited for this next chapter in our lives together and to soon welcome our baby girl next summer," she added.
