The Valley couple shared the life update while preparing for parenthood.
The engaged couple addressed their living situation in a red-carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying they had “absolutely" no plans to stay in Los Angeles.
Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick say LA isn't their "permanent home"
“It is for the short term,” Luke said when asked if he now considers LA his “home.” “I don’t know that I’ll ever call it home, but it is where we are for the time being."
"Yeah, home is just wherever we are," Kristen replied. "It's not our permanent home."
The pair didn't reveal where they would ultimately like to settle down. Perhaps somewhere else in California? Kristen's home state of Michigan? Or maybe Indiana, where they purchased a piece of land.
"My home is with Kristen," Luke added. "Unfortunately, we’re in Los Angeles right now."
It's safe to say The Valley cast members won't move anytime soon, as they're quite busy preparing for baby No.1.
Kristen previously confirmed that her daughter is set to arrive on June 17, giving her and Luke just a couple of months to get their house in order. She told the outlet she’s in full “nesting” mode while her hubby is hard at work updating and organizing their LA home.
“My list keeps getting longer; we’ll put it that way,” Luke said. “The honey-do list keeps getting longer.”
“Collectively, we’ve realized it’s not about getting ready for the baby, like her room or her things, which we are doing,” Kristen added. “It became more about how do we make the house easier for us? How do we organize for us so when we don’t have time for anything and we’re super tired — as we’ve been told — that everything just kind of falls into place?”
Kristen Doute and Luke Broderck say some castmates won't get a wedding invite
Kristen and Luke are so focused on their forthcoming family addition that they’ve yet to start the wedding planning process. Luke joked he had dedicated so much time and energy to his “elaborate” marriage proposal that he was leaving all the wedding details to Kristen.
“I pass the ball into her court,” he said. “Once she’s ready to initiate the planning, we will have more for ya.”
“After baby,” Kristen added. “Much longer after baby, we will figure it out.”
Although their wedding might be in the distant future, Kristen and Luke are already thinking about the guest list. They told ET some of their castmates wouldn’t get an invite, hinting at major friendship fallouts in The Valley Season 2.
“I mean, they’re not all getting a baby shower or a birthday [invite], so definitely not a wedding invite,” Kristen revealed. “I think after you watch part of the season, you’ll figure it out very quickly [who won’t get invited]. It’s people who — I’ll say they start with a ‘J.’”
Kristen Doute reveals what fans can expect on The Valley Season 2
So, what else can fans expect from The Valley’s sophomore season? Kristen said it’ll mark a “transitional” era for many of her castmates, which, of course, includes her.
“Life is finally happening,” she said. “It all came to this. Everything I had to go through was for a reason — so I could find [Luke], find our way, and now we’re ready to start the rest of our lives. It’s awesome.”
The Valley Season 2 will premiere April 15 on Bravo. Find out where the cast stands before their second go-around.
