The sad end of Brandi Glanville and Kim Richards’ friendship has been much discussed in the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fanbase. The details of their falling out have been unknown to the public as both sides remained secretive.
For many years, their alliance seemed unbreakable, perhaps even stronger than Kim’s relationship with her sister Kyle Richards (which is up and down, to say the least)
Now, however, Kim is finally opening up.
In an interview with E! News, Kim shared why she hasn’t spoken to Brandi in years. According to Kim, it occurred in the midst of her breast cancer scare in 2019 after she had a procedure.
“There were some pictures she posted of me after my surgery—it was a tough surgery for me,” said Kim. “They thought I had cancer, and I had something blocking my chest cavity. It was scary for me.”
She said that a week after the surgery, when they were shooting for RHOBH at Kyle’s house, Kim thought she “popped a stitch.”
“I was scared and Brandi looks down and checks and I ask, ‘Can you look please? I’m scared,'” said Kim. “And that picture was posted. I’m sure it was by accident but…I felt a little upset. I felt like just take that down.”
Kim said she asked her to “please take it down… [but] she never responded.”
“Then [Brandi] called later and I said, ‘I asked you to take that down,’ and she said, ‘It’s nothing, it was a picture.’ So she didn’t find the harm in it,” continued Kim.
The alum said they haven’t spoken since that day.
Kim then shared where she stands with her sister Kyle.
“I’m okay with Kyle,” she said. “I wish I could see her more. I wish we could spend a little more time together. I spend more time with Kathy than Kyle and I do miss my sister. I know she’s balancing 100 things and we all are. After COVID, this has taught us those of you who love your family, you love them and you be with them.”
Kim claimed they’ve spoken since the joint engagement party of their daughters, which was five months earlier.
“I did say to [Kyle], ‘In the new year, I’d like to make an effort on my part too.’ Because I was afraid to go because after my surgery. Now I’m trying to get over it and if there’s anybody I want to see first it’s gonna be my sisters. I’m hoping I get to do that coming up here.”
Brandi, for her part, soon responded to Kim’s story about their falling out. According to Brandi, the facts aren’t correct.
“I love you @KimRichards11 But your recollection is off please show me that picture that you’re talking about because that never happened,” tweeted Brandi.
She then added, “In fact well after that moment in time you did my podcast and when we went into Covid I even drove you to the emergency room.”
Brandi ended the post, “#receipts.”
