REAL Housewives of New York star Kelly Bensimon has defended Andy Cohen against Leah McSweeney’s lawsuit in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun.
Leah, 41, filed a bombshell lawsuit against Andy, 55, Bravo, and other producers late last month, in which she claimed that he "engages in cocaine use" with Housewives and other Bravolebrities.
Andy has since firmly denied the accusations via his attorney who said the claims are completely false and it's a "baseless lawsuit."
Now, RHONY alum Kelly Bensimon, 55, is weighing in on the shocking filing and sending a warning to the Season 12 and 13 vet.
"I love Andy. I really don't know Leah. I never filmed with her.
"I've met her a couple of times through some friends of mine.
"She seems lovely. I mean, I don't have anything to say about her. I just don't like her talking about me," Kelly told The U.S. Sun while attending the Tara, Ink. Oscar Oasis in Beverly Hills on March 9.
As Page Six reported, Kelly was dragged into the lawsuit when Leah claimed producers viewed an episode known as "Scary Island" as the gold standard for ratings-grabbing TV.
In the episode, Kelly appeared erratic and out-of-touch with reality - something Leah claimed producers tried to recreate by casting her as a potential successor to the Housewives alum.
The real estate broker explained what went down, saying,"I left on my own.
"No one asked me to leave. I stopped the filming because the scenes were just not happening anymore.
"It was like 11 o'clock at night. I'm like, the scene is over and things are happening that don't need to happen."
Kelly went on to say that the beef is between Andy and Leah and she wants to be left out of the lawsuit.
"Don't talk about Scary Island!" Kelly insisted, while clarifying, "First of all, I don't drink that much.
"Second of all, when I do drink on television, I always drink with ice."
"And furthermore, even if I were doing that, I'm so outspoken about myself, my psoriasis, my raising my kids, every single thing that happens to me," she said.
"I speak out so much about it, body shaming, whatever it is.
"So, if I had any kind of issue, don't you think you'd hear from me?"
"I've been on the show since Season 2. It's not like I'm a latecomer. I have a lot of respect for Bravo. They gave me a lot of opportunities. They gave me the ability to provide for my kids," Kelly concluded.
When asked if she's heard anything about Season 15 of RHONY after last season welcomed an entirely new cast, Kelly told The U.S. Sun that "everybody needs two seasons," but isn't sure exactly who is going to be added to the mix despite rumblings of OG housewives returning.
"There's a lot of crossover just because I think what's great too about these Housewives shows is that they have a lot of different women of a lot of different ages, which is really amazing.
"It's kind of like the Golden Girls... I think it's great to see all these different women in their thirties," she said.
"When I was on Housewives, I just turned 39 and it's just nice to see a lot of different women and in a lot of different age groups and how they're navigating."
Kelly last appeared on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 4, which premiered at the end of last year.
She's now back to selling houses with the agency Douglas Elliman in New York and Florida, among other areas.
"I work out here too," Kelly said at the NotPolish-sponsored pre-Oscars event that took place at Stevie Wonder's old home in California.
"I sold a property with Matt Altman and then I'm working on another property with Fredrik Eklund which I'm really excited about."
In the coming months, she'll be tying the knot for the second time.
She's in the midst of planning her summer nuptials to fiancé Scott Litner, who works in finance for Morgan Stanley.
Without giving away which Housewives will be attending, she vowed that it will be a "very small wedding," but "a really big party."
Kelly shared, "[Scott's] a really good human and I really appreciate that. I have a very big life and I have a lot going on, and it's nice to just be with someone that enjoys being with me on the off time."
While indulging in some me time, the former model spent her Saturday morning at the Tara, Ink. Oscar Oasis checking out chic boho styles by fashion designer Robert Escalera, relaxing by the pool, taking in scents by Aroma360, and enjoying a Pan-Asian cuisine prepared by chefs Ryan and Bradley Gallego.
