Kate Chastain is enchanted by the twinkling lights in her craftsman bungalow. On December 5, the Below Deck alum took to Instagram to share a video of her living room, which is beautifully decorated for the 2023 holiday season.
Granted, Kate's living room looks lovely on any given day. As the former chief stew has shown before, the room is flooded with natural light during the daytime, and it's filled with tasteful decor. In an Instagram video, Kate showed off an ornate rug, two cozy white chairs, and a white bookcase.
Since Kate just moved into the Florida house this March, she'll celebrate her first official holiday season there this year. And as she began to deck her halls, the new mom remembered something that she had forgotten.
Kate's video showed off a Christmas tree decorated with tiny white lights. "I always forget how charming Christmas decor is," she wrote in her caption. The tree looked charming, indeed. In addition to lights, it's decorated with ornaments. On the mantel nearby, Kate has placed a lush green garland and hung two grey stockings — presumably, one for her and one for her baby boy, Sullivan.
Sullivan, who was born in May, will be celebrating his first Christmas this year. The little one has a comfy spot from which to gaze at the Christmas tree: Kate's video offered a peek at the baby rocker Sullivan loves, which is currently set up in front of the sparkling fir.
Kate Chastain says Madison LeCroy inspired her to become a mom
During the "Mom's Night Out" panel on Day 2 of BravoCon 2023, Kate revealed that Southern Charm's Madison LeCroy had a positive impact on her decision to have her first child. (For those out of the loop, Madison is the mother of a 10-year-old son, Hudson.)
In the clip above, Kate says: "I told Madison this backstage, but this is so true. She's the reason I had my son. I found out I was pregnant, and I was like 'What am I gonna do?' I saw her on Instagram with her son, and I saw that mother-and-son relationship, and I was like 'I can do this.' She inspired me."

During the panel, Kate gave more insight into how motherhood is going. "I don't get out a lot. He's only six months old, and they don't warn you: It's a lot of work! And I've done yachting. Just getting out of the house is fun," she said.
