Kate Chastain’s Easter Sunday began on an amusing note.
Fans got a peek at the celebration in an April 20 video filmed outside Kate’s Florida home, where she and her son, Sullivan Cay, received a special visitor. “The Easter bunny has made it to Melbourne Beach,” she captioned a clip of someone dressed as the holiday figure.
Kate Chastain gets an Easter surprise from Connie Arias
So, who was under the bunny costume? It turns out it was Kate’s fellow Below Deck alum Connie Arias.
“How did you get that?” Kate asked, referring to the Easter getup.
Connie, who was Kate’s castmate in Below Deck Season 3, indicated she got the costume from a department store that was no longer using it.
“The lady is like, ‘He retired.’ I was like, ‘He doesn’t retire. You put a new person in the damn suit,’” Connie explained, before referring to her fiancé. “I’m like, ‘Scott, go to the back door at Dillard’s with $150 in cash and just meet a lady named Debbie.’ He’s like, ‘You’re an idiot.’ He still did it.”
“It’s great,” Kate said. “It’s so great.”
Kate Chastain's son, Sullivan Cay, had a funny reaction to the Easter Bunny
A second clip captured Easter Bunny Connie attempting to greet Kate’s young son, Sullivan Cay. And let’s just say, she didn’t receive the warmest welcome.
“Come here,” Connie said as she slowly approached the toddler. Sullivan Cay, who turns 2 next month, immediately ran away from the bunny and yelled, “Noooo!”
The following video showed Connie still rocking the costume as she drove away in a golf cart.
“Text me later,” she shouted to Kate. “We’re having a pool party.”
Kate Chastain purchases a "historic" Florida house: "I'm just really happy"
The weekend marked Kate’s first Easter celebration at her newly purchased “dream home.” The mother of one showed off the digs in exclusive photos for BravoTV.com, highlighting its gorgeous kitchen, living room, and outdoor space.
“I think what makes this house special is I’m not a person who likes modern interior design,” she said about the “historic, beautiful home. “Like [Below Deck alum] Ben Robinson, for example, loves modern. I feel like it’s cold and too perfect. I like something with a little personality, a little imperfections. [It] makes it interesting and beautiful. I’m just really happy.”
Kate, who previously lived in a Fort Lauderdale craftsman bungalow, said the property was also close to her family and friends, including Connie, who was just a “golf cart ride away.”
