Kate Chastain is settling into her new home, and she's getting ready to enter into her "homemaker era" — which may include a new business.
The Below Deck alum just caught up with The Daily Dish to discuss her new Florida digs, where she lives with her son Sullivan Cay Chastain. The former chief stew noted that she's been feeling "inspired" now that she has a spacious new kitchen (featuring gorgeous white cabinetry and a large center island) to cook in.
"I think I might be entering my homemaker era, like I want to start making pasta from scratch," she told us. "You know, I don’t know, maybe I’m going to start doing like cooking videos on my social media. I think with a kitchen like this I’m feeling pretty inspired to explore that more."
As someone with years of experience in yachting and making charter guests feel welcome, it's no surprise that Kate is still interested in doing something in hospitality.
"I love hosting, whether it’s on a yacht or in my own home, so I am toying with the idea of — and I’ve registered a few names on a web names, just in case — like a high end event planning company," she continued.
When asked if this business would be "coming soon," Kate responded, "Yes."
Well, she'll put more thought into it after her move is complete. "But, first I got to get my bed and my couch out of the moving truck, so... But, then after all the clothes are put away and all the boxes are unpacked, then I’ll start thinking about the next adventure," she concluded.
All the details on Kate Chastain's new house
The Bravolebrity moved into her forever home in early January 2025, and she caught up with The Daily Dish shortly thereafter.
Describing the aesthetic of her 100-year-old dream house, Kate noted that she gravitates towards character and history.
"I think what makes this house special is I'm not a person who likes modern interior design. Like [Below Deck alum] Ben Robinson, for example, loves modern. I feel like it's cold and too perfect," she said. "I like something with a little personality, a little imperfections. [It] makes it interesting and beautiful. I'm just really happy."
Though the home has some history to it, it was updated before Kate moved in. Now, all she needs to do is unpack her boxes.
"To have them already done that, it feels like I hired an interior designer before I even knew it," she told us. "I love her style. She did the work and then I get to reap the benefits."
