Kate Chastain has something to say about former Below Deck castmate Chef Ben Robinson's recent breakup.
How to Watch
ICYMI, Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean alum Chef Ben confirmed on Instagram on September 16 that his engagement to Kiara Cabral had been called off.
Kate reacted to the breakup in the comments section of Ben's post, writing, "Maybe I should screen your next partner for you. Being a stepmom isn’t easy."
The former Below Deck chief stew poked fun at the rumors surrounding the father of her son, Sullivan Cay Chastain, in her message.
Ben responded to Kate's joke by adding, "Lol, you have quite the nous. I’ll take you up on that."
Are Ben Robinson and Kate Chastain still friends?
Though the chief stew and the chef didn't always see eye to eye when they were both on Below Deck, they've since developed a tight-knit friendship.
Kate and Ben even lived in the same apartment building in Florida for a while, but the mom of one has since moved into a house of her own.
During an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish in July 2024, Kate confirmed that she had just brought her son over to Ben's house.
"Actually I took [Sullivan] over to Chef Ben's house last week," Kate said when asked about her support system. "But you know, speaking of a place that is not baby proof. We didn't stay long at all. I was like, 'Do you always keep your knives out on the coffee table. Can you put those away? These chef knives, they look very sharp...' It was hilarious."
Who was Ben Robinson engaged to?
In May 2023, Ben confirmed that he had recently popped the question to his girlfriend of about four years, Kiara Cabral. "After a wonderful [four] year relationship with my love, I decided to take the next step and propose..." Ben wrote on Instagram at the time in a since-deleted post. "I feel like the luckiest man alive!"
Fast-forward to September 2024, and Ben revealed that his relationship had come to an end. "Hey guys, I hope everyone’s had a wonderful summer. I have missed being in touch with you, but I’m finally able to share my adventures," Ben wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. "You will understand, it’s been difficult. I am no longer getting married…"
He added that he and Kiara had "decided to go our separate ways."
"And I think that this is the best decision for both of us," he shared. "I would rather not discuss the reasons behind these decisions, but I feel it’s important for me to express my circumstance[s]...."
