The Traitors is welcoming back two of its biggest stars for a special season 3 appearance, and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the pair in action.

Peacock's hit reality series, which drops new installments on Thursdays, has brought Kate Chastain and Parvati Shallow to the Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands again — though this time, they're not Traitors or Faithfuls.

The two ladies will appear in episode nine of the series, airing Feb. 20, as two queens in a life-sized chess challenge. Both wear dramatic ruffle dresses with oversized sleeves and corseted bodices as they sit on fabulous thrones, Chastain, 42, in head-to-toe black and Shallow, 42, in all-white.

Chastain appeared on the first season of The Traitors, her dry wit and hilarious disinterest in gameplay helping make the show a success (and landing her in fifth place). The Below Deck alumna returned in season 2, where she made it to the end but was banished out of the top 4.

Both times, Chastain was a Faithful, however in season 2, she was recruited to be a Traitor. That same season, Shallow was also a Faithful at first, but the Survivor winner was recruited to be a Traitor, too. She was banished in episode 8.

It's unclear exactly what role Chastain and Shallow will play in the season 3 challenge. No matter what, the pair — each with their own sparkling headgear and gold fans — appear to have enjoyed their trip.

"Returning to Scotland for The Traitors season 3 felt like a religious pilgrimage back to the MOTHERLAND," Shallow tells PEOPLE. "It was like a higher calling toward my former Mistress of Murder role and to Alan and his fabulous outfits. I was thrilled to be all dolled up and thrown back into the treacherous fun!”

"I just can’t seem to stay away from Scotland — three seasons in, and The Traitors still keeps me coming back for more," says Chastain. "Let’s just say, by now, I know exactly what it takes to survive in that castle, but whether I’ll be plotting or just enjoying the chaos, you’ll have to watch and see.”

Fans first got a tease of Chastain and Shallow's appearance on The Traitors season 3 when the show's trailer dropped back in December. The season premiered on Jan. 9.

There are currently nine players left in the game. Sam Asghari, Dolores Catania, Dylan Efron, Britney Haynes, Ivar Mountbatten, Tom Sandoval and Gabby Windey are Faithfuls while Danielle Reyes and Carolyn Wiger are working as Traitors.

Alan Cumming is back again as emcee. The Tony Award-winning actor won a 2024 Emmy for hosting the series, which also nabbed a trophy in the outstanding reality competition program category.

All three seasons of The Traitors can be streamed on Peacock.
