Kandi Burruss Calls Out RHOA Producers for Excluding Kenya Moore From Cast Pic as She Seemingly Shades Phaedra Parks

RHOA Alum Kandi Burruss Defends Kenya Moore Following Her Cast Photo Omission and Shades Phaedra Parks in the ProcessThere have been many reactions to the recently released trailer for The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16. Some have been positive, as many fans feel this new group of ladies could bring the show back from the brink of death. However, the reviews haven’t all been peachy, as some longtime fans believed the scenes in the trailer seemed forced. Now, RHOA alum Kandi Burruss is throwing in her two cents and defending Kenya Moore while throwing shade at Phaedra Parks

In February 2024, Kandi announced that she would depart the long-running show. Since then, much has changed, including Kenya being suspended midway through filming season 16. Following this, they brought in Phaedra, who Kandi hasn’t been on good terms with for several years. Now, the trailer and cast photos are out. Kenya is hardly in the trailer and doesn’t have a cast photo.

Kandi recently hosted an Amazon Live session, and a fan brought up the trailer and cast photos and how Kenya is basically absent. Luckily, The Neighborhood Talk captured this part of the session. In response, Kandi said, “Okay, I’m glad you said it because I going to say it myself.”

The R&B songstress continued, “Now, I would like to say out of all the things, I was pissed about that. I personally felt like Kenya started the season out. Right? At least, we all know that. I don’t know how… they’re going to edit it, but I’m like, ‘Ya’ll couldn’t even let her picture be a part of the show?'”

She then said, “The other friends of the show had pictures. Cynthia had a picture, and Cynthia is my girl, I love her, so this isn’t shade to her. She needs a picture, too.”

Kandi didn’t stop there. She added, “I don’t know what to say about this. I am too through. Now, yes, I am a little biased. I love Kenya, but that bothered me because then you threw somebody else at the end of the clip for a twerk session for two seconds. But you couldn’t put Kenya, who filmed half of that season.”

For context, she’s referring to Phaedra, who can be seen twerking in front of Porsha Williams near the end of the RHOA season 16 trailer.

She added, “Are you kidding me? The disrespect. When people do things that are offensive to some people, or you’re upset about something she did, does that throw away all the magic that she’s given ya’ll all this time?”

Later, she also took issue with the fact that Kenya was in the trailer, but the network or production company decided against giving her a cast picture. Her producer then asked if she’d spoken to Kenya. She responded, “I have not talked to Kenya since the trailer dropped, but I would love to bring Kenya in to have her give us her thoughts about the trailer.”

Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta begins on March 9 on Bravo.
