Even though Kandi Burruss announced her departure from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” series earlier this year, her ties with the Bravo network may be far from over.
In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, she opened up about her daughter, Riley Burruss’ new venture stepping into the spotlight.
“My daughter, Riley, she’s on a show that’s coming up at the top of the year, so she’s going to be doing reality,” Kandi said. “So, I’m still there. I’m still part of that family.”
A few months ago, Bravo teased a new show called “Making It In Manhattan.” The show is expected to follow a group of young adults creating their own paths in New York City. Despite the network not announcing the official cast lineup, rumors have circulated that Riley, along with a few other celebrity babies such as Brooks Marks (son of “RHOSLC” star Meredith Marks), Ariana Biermann (daughter of “RHOA” alum Kim Zolciak Biermann), and Gia Giudice (daughter of “RHONJ” star Teresa Giudice). Ming Lee Simmons, the daughter of Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons, as well as Ava Dash, the daughter of Rachel Roy and Damon Dash, will allegedly be featured on the show.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Kandi shared that even though she is no longer a part of “RHOA,” she remains appreciative of her time on the popular series, though she couldn’t be happier with her time off-camera.
“Not that I don’t like the show, I just feel like when I left, I had done 14 seasons straight. No other Housewife had done that,” she says. “So a lot of times, I was filming all year-round reality, and that can be a little draining.”
