On July 1 K'Andre Miller is set to become a restricted free agent as he still remains without a contract extension as of right now.
Over the last season K'Andre Millers future with the New York Rangers continuously become more unclear, due to having a down year, something he even said himself.
«There were a lot of ups and downs throughout the year and I was obviously a big part of that,» Miller said. «Didn't love how I started my season this year. I was listening to a lot of the noise. Just not really playing the game I wanted to play. I thought it was a hard season for me to kind of get a grip of how I wanted to play.»
K'Andre Miller really seemed to struggle on the defensive end, something that's kinda worrying considering many expected him to take on a big role this season.
In 74 games, the 24-year-old defenseman managed to tally seven goals, 20 assists, for a total of 27 points while averaging 21:57 minutes.
Unfortunately, now we have to wait and see if Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury still views Miller as a valuable player of the organization.

K'Andre Miller speaks out on his future with the New York Rangers

When addressing his future, Miller didn't divulge much information and seemed to be sentimental when opening up about his time in New York,
Miller briefly talked about his future with the Rangers, and was quick to say that he loves it here in New York and that he wouldn't want to play anywhere else.
«Kind of hard to talk about my future here, obviously. I have a great agent that is going to help me throughout this summer's process. I love being a New York Ranger. I think this has been some of the best years of my life, these last five years have been unforgettable in about every aspect you can think of.»

With the following statement, Miller makes it clear that he wants to be with the New York Rangers long-term:

«It's a part of the job,» Miller said about becoming a restricted free agent. «It's my first time going through it, so it's a little different, but like I said, I love New York and I wouldn't want to play anywhere else right now.»
