Jonathan Quick is expected to start and play the entire preseason game for the New York Rangers against the New Jersey Devils on Monday night.
After Monday’s practice, Rangers coach Peter Laviolette confirmed that Quick will not be splitting time with another goalie and is set to play for the entirety of the contest.
The 38-year-old goalie came in relief of Igor Shesterkin for the Rangers’ second preseason game against the New York Islanders while he started and played 40 minutes in the team’s next matchup against the Boston Bruins.
Laviolette also said that Igor Shesterkin will play on Tuesday night against the Devils, but he won’t be suiting up tonight.
All of the Rangers’ main players aside from Quick will not be playing against the Devils tonight with them all practicing this morning.
