Jax Taylor – the paragon of virtue – says it’s time for everyone to give his former Vanderpump Rules co-star Tom Sandoval a break.

Tom found himself at the center of a firestorm when it was revealed during VPR Season 10 that he had been having a months-long affair with Rachel Leviss while still in a relationship with Ariana Madix. Scandoval sparked an intense backlash.

Jax, who now stars on The Valley, recently opened up about Tom and the still-lingering effects of his major betrayal. According to Jax, it’s time for everyone to move on. Well, he does know a thing about lying and cheating himself.

Jax Taylor on Tom Sandoval still catching Scandoval blowback: “He’s got PTSD”

During the February 14th episode of Jax’s When Reality Hits podcast, Jax touched on Tom still getting tons of hate for cheating on Ariana.

Jax’s guest was The Challenge’s Johnny Bananas. When the discussion turned to Tom, Jax mentioned that he’d seen a significant change in his friend’s demeanor since everything went down in 2023. He described Tom as “not the same guy” and suggested that the backlash “hurt [Tom] so bad.” Jax went on to say, “I really think that he had some serious trauma. He’s got PTSD.”

Johnny explained, “Anything that happens to him that could in any way, shape, or form be made fun of or poked fun at, now he’s just like a walking punchline. And I think that at some point, it’s like, yo, I get it, like he did what he did, but I feel like he’s done his time.”

Jax agreed, replying, “I’ve said this to everybody. What he did was wrong, I get it, but he’s done his time.”

“The punishment at this point doesn’t fit the crime,” Johnny added.

Jax continued, “And I think it’s gonna take a lot for him to realize. Like for instance, I think right now he should be rebuilding his brand.”

Tom has recently re-entered our lives as a contestant in Season 3 of The Traitors. During his time there, he has played the role of punchline. Those pit stains! That intense backward singing! However, it has been pretty entertaining. Or are we just getting soft?

Vanderpump Rules and The Traitors stream on Peacock. Season 2 of The Valley is coming to Bravo soon.
