Jax Taylor Reveals Surprising Age He Lost His Virginity as He Calls Himself a “Late Bloomer,” Plus The Valley Star Discusses “Deep Rooted” Issues That Led Him to Drink - lulu

Jax Taylor is one of the most controversial men in reality television. Much of this has to do with how he behaves on camera, but he also has this reputation due to his personal life and his treatment of his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright. Now, he’s opening up about his sex life and discussing the reasoning behind his new podcast.

As fans know, Jax has also been in the news recently after he revealed a decades-long addiction to cocaine. Since his admission, both Brittany and Lisa Vanderpump have spoken out and admitted to witnessing destructive behavior from Jax. Additionally, Brittany questioned if he planned to stick to his sobriety journey. 

According to Bravo, The Valley star recently opened up about his sex life on his In the Mind of a Man with Jax Taylor podcast. Regarding growing up, he said, “Sex wasn’t really a big thing then. I didn’t lose my virginity until I was 19. I was a late bloomer.”

He went on to discuss deciding to wait before having sex following his much-talked-about breakup with Brittany.

According to Jax, “I waited a little bit. I am in no way, shape, or form interested in a relationship. Unfortunately, my ex-wife and I, we went our separate ways. So, of course, when you come out — and this goes for her too — I want her to go out, explore, and have fun because it didn’t work for either of us. So, no, I’m not looking for a relationship right now, but at the same time [do you say], ‘I’m glad you’re here, I don’t want to date you, but let’s have sex?'”

Jax then said, “I don’t want to lie to these girls, I just don’t want to hurt their feelings. It’s more about that.”

Jax also recently spoke out about dating since getting sober from cocaine and alcohol. He explained, “Now, for the first time in my life, I am going out, and I am going on a date with no drinking. So there’s no buffer, OK? There’s no taking the edge off.”

“I’ve been going back and forth in my head like, ‘How the hell am I going to date?’ Because I’ve already turned down a couple of people because I’m not comfortable with it. Like, I don’t know what to do. My guess is I’m going to have to start going for coffee, I think. And I’m also now that guy now who doesn’t drink,” he added.

Apparently, Jax wants to rebrand himself as “a man of [his] word.” In other Jax news, he also appeared on an episode of The Adam and Dr. Drew Show. They started by asking him if he got any pushback due to his new podcast. 

Jax responded, “Yeah, a little bit, considering what’s been going on in my life lately. Listen, I’m not claiming to know men by any means. I’m claiming to know toxic men and their problematic behaviors. Just basically to bring awareness of the red flags.”

He then talked about heterosexual men “ghosting” and “gaslighting” women. He added, “Unfortunately, I’ve done all these things, and I feel like I can give a little bit of insight so I can help women not find men like me. I’m not claiming to be completely recovered or anything like that. I just feel like I have a little bit of understanding.”

Regarding the women who are attracted to some of the red flags like love bombing, surface-level conversation, etc., he said they “thrive on chaos.” 

Regarding what led to his positive changes in life, Jax admitted, “For me, I just got tired of it. It gets old after a while. Tired of being the womanizer, going after girl after girl, and also, too, some people just have a problem with it. It’s like drugs. They have a problem with sex addiction and things like that.”

When asked if he had this issue, Jax responded, “I think I dabbled in it a little bit.” Adam and Dr. Drew asked if he was in recovery, and he said, “I am not in recovery for that. I’m just kind of sticking with the substance abuse right now and trying to figure that out. Maybe we’ll branch into that later. I’m trying to fix one problem before I get to the other problems.”

He then admitted, “And, personally, I think I have some other deep-rooted issues. I personally don’t think alcohol and drugs were the problem. I was just masking my issues with the drugs and alcohol. I don’t think I have an alcohol problem, but I do have a substance problem, but they go hand in hand, so I had to quit both.”

“I’m the type of person if I’m having a vodka on the rocks, I’m looking for a bag of cocaine. I’m gonna find one, and I just had to stop both. Enough is enough. I’m 45 years old. I had a great ride, and it was time to quit,” Jax added.

Finally, Jax said, “I’ve had a lot of trauma in my life, and instead of dealing with it head-on, going to therapy, I would mask it with drugs, and then it would end up being worse because the next 72 hours, I’m coming down from that.” He also said that he’s usually a “quick fix guy.”
