Jax Taylor Reveals How He Still Has TikTok Amid U.S. Ban - lulu

Jax Taylor revealed that he still has an active TikTok account, despite a federal ban on the popular app in the United States.

On January 19, 2025, “The Valley” star posted a video to Instagram to explain why he still able to access the social media platform despite living in California.

Taylor, who was an original cast member on  “Vanderpump Rules” also offered a pitch to companies for brand deals.

Jax Taylor Signed Up for TikTok in Canada

Taylor lives in California, but he spends a lot of time in Canada for promotional appearances. In his Instagram update, the 45-year-old reality star revealed the loophole that has him still on TikTok.

“What’s up all you ex-TikTokkers,” Taylor said in a video message to his 1.2 million Instagram followers. “That’s right, ex. I still have my TikTok. That’s right, I’m one of the very few Americans who still has their TikTok. Why, you ask? Well, because when I signed up, I signed up in Canada, my second home. Thank you, Canada, again.”

Taylor went on to appeal to all of the ”brands” out there looking for a pitchman. “If you want to put your money somewhere, the number one guy is back,“ he said. “The Number One Guy on TikTok is right here.”

“Well guys…officially the #1 Guy on TikTok. #sorrynotsorry #ilovecanada 🇨🇦,” Taylor captioned his post, later adding, “Sorry guys, I just thought this was funny…. but maybe not! 🤷🏻‍♂️.”

Taylor posted the same video and a similar message to his 300,000 followers on X. “I am one of the few Americans who still has tik tok because mine was created in Canada!!! ,” he wrote in the early morning hours of January 19.

Fans had a big reaction in the comment section.

On January 19, 2025, TikTok went dark in the United States. According to the Associated Press, millions of users in America suddenly lost access to the popular app as a federal ban was put into effect over concerns about privacy and data issues with the China-based company. Hours before the January 19 ban took effect, TikTok was proactively removed from app stores due to the impending blackout.

A message posted on the TikTok site now reads: “A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now. We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned.”

Former users were also invited to download their data.

President Trump told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” he is considering offering a 90-day extension for TikTok to sell to a non-Chinese buyer, but that still did not stop the site from going down in the U.S. as of the compliance deadline on January 19.
