Jax Taylor talked about co-parenting Cruz – who was diagnosed with autism – with his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, The Valley star spoke out for the first time since Brittany announced Cruz’s diagnosis.

Jax’s goal is to do what’s best for Cruz:

“Our son is the most lovable, cute, cozy little kid ever. He’s an absolutely delicious kid,” exclaimed Cruz’s dad.

“I am so proud of him. He’s so smart, so intelligent.” But, there are struggles. “He’s lacking in verbal. He says little things here and there.”

Jax and Brit and taking advantage of as many resources as they can get to help Cruz developmentally. “He’s in occupational therapy, speech therapy. [Cruz] swims every day. He’s in school. He’s just a great kid.”

Co-parenting with Brittany:

Jax explained, “Brittany and I are going through a really hard time.” Learning how to support Cruz’s autism is paramount for Jax.

“I think we’re strong enough to set this aside and focus on our son. It’s not about you and [me]. It’s not about [us] arguing.” Jax believes “It’s about making sure our son has everything he needs in life to succeed.”

“Making sure he is loved by both parents, whether we are together or not, he needs to understand his mom and dad love him more than anything. We’re learning.”

The elephant in the room:

During the preview of The Valley‘s season 2 premiere episode, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright discussed a violent incident that forever altered their relationship.

Brittany detailed Jax’s reaction to finding out she was hooking up with his former friend, Julian Sensley.

Jax “flipped the table over and it hit my knee.” Brittany continued, “It turned black immediately. I’m screaming [and] crying. It was terrifying.”

Jax yelled, “YOU’RE CHEATING ON ME! YOU’RE STILL TALKING TO HIM!”

However – during a confessional – Jax admitted they agreed to dating other people. “But a friend?! Come on.” (LOL!)

He continued, “It was bad. I’ve gotten angry before, but that’s the worst it’s ever gotten. Cruz was in the other room. Thank god. I lost all control [and] had an out-of-body experience.”

“Show me a guy who wouldn’t handle the situation the way I handled it.”
