The Valley's Jax Taylor is denying accusations that he body shamed his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright.
During their candid conversation about Jax's altercation with Brittany on Season 2, Episode 2, Kristen Doute pointed out how his behavior had taken a major toll on his ex. "I've been with her crying because you called her ugly, fat, told her nobody wants her…" Kristen told him on the April 22 episode.
On The Valley After Show, however, Jax doubled down on his defense: "I've never, never, never in my life have ever called her fat," he insisted. "I would never, ever call her that. Have I said mean things? Of course. What relationship have you ever been in that people don't get in arguments and fights? That's gonna happen in any relationship. But as far as attacking her body, no, I love the way she looks."
He added, "I think sometimes things can be [misconstrued]."
After Vanderpump Rules' Tom Schwartz chimed in that Brittany might produce receipts to the contrary, Jax pointed to her "big team" of "girl power," accusing them of having a tendency to fabricate stories "to fit their narrative" when they "get angry."
The Valley cast backed Kristen's claims about Jax body shaming Brittany
Even so, Kristen didn't back down from her claim either, calling Jax a "complete liar" on the After Show.
"I've seen it, I've read it, I've been there in person — for years," she said. "I mean, literally right after she gave birth to Cruz, [Jax was] calling her fat, amongst, like, much worse ways to say it."
Among The Valley cast members to back up Kristen in saying they'd also witnessed Jax berating Brittany were Jasmine Goode, Nia Sanchez Booko, and Zack Wickham, as well as VPR's Lala Kent.
"Her family has been around, and he still will stay things and insult her," Nia alleged.
How Jax Taylor's body shaming affected Brittany Cartwright
Even Brittany herself stood firm that Kristen was telling the truth about Jax.
"He would talk about my body all the time," she said. "I've got stretch marks from having his son. He would say that I looked like a tree trunk. … He would say it in front of my friends."
Jax's ability to "charm people" publicly, but then "tear [her] to pieces" behind closed doors, ultimately led Brittany to have a physiological response, she claimed.
was breaking out in hives. I was throwing up all the time. … I broke out in hives every day for an entire year."
At one point, Brittany even sought medical treatment at a hospital.
"They said they couldn't figure out anything that was wrong, other than stress," she added. "I don't do that anymore, and it's because I don't live with him anymore."
Brittany Cartwright revealed when Jax Taylor's insults began
When an After Show producer asked her if Jax's insulting comments started early on in their relationship, Brittany responded, "I think he's, like, always kind of done it," adding that "nights out and stuff would be bad."
Then, later on, Jax's behavior "definitely got worse." She elaborated, "He was treating me so bad. … I guess he wasn't attracted to me anymore or something, and he, like, let me know it."
Explaining that she was "just speaking the truth," not "bashing" Jax, Brittany added, "I shouldn't be blamed for the way he treated me."
