The Bachelorette alum, 36, took to Instagram to share the joyous return of his rescue dog Teddy, who had been away for a four-week training to overcome past abuse. Tartick commemorated the reunion with three images and a lengthy, heartfelt caption.

“Reunited at last!! Teddy is back and doing so well!” the post began. “Given his past, with abuse and neglect, addressing his reactivity was so important to his happiness and safety. After training, his peace of mind with other people, dogs and even moving objects like cars and bikes is truly a dream.”

Tartick shared that Teddy has an astounding mix of 16 different dog breeds in his blood, including Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd, Anatolian Shepherd and Chow Chow, and how important it was to understand this in order to create an ideal training process for him.

“I have been dedicated and invested in his training from day 1 of adoption, and it’ll be ongoing from here on out,” the caption continued. “Needless to say, I have so much comfort and confidence in saying that Teddy has officially been rescued in many more ways than one….and bc of him, so have I.”

In a follow-up post, Tartick shared a snapshot of a happy Teddy and ended the carousel images with a video of the excited dog jumping into a golf cart. In the caption, he wrote, “Teddy’s back, CMA’s, and a new home. Great weekend in Nashville.”

When Tartick had to say goodbye to Teddy before he was sent to the shelter, the reality star shared another heartfelt note on Instagram. "Over the last two months, Teddy has become my best buddy,” he wrote. “We’ve bonded deeply; and he’s also had time to settle in and learn routines.”

In the lengthy post, Tartick added, “I take being his Dad with great responsibility so it’s important that I advocate for him in every way I can,” and explained why Teddy was sent to the board and train program.

“He has some triggers and the occasional reactivity towards dogs, passing cars or humans," he shared. "While he’s away they’re going to work on building his confidence to put him in a peaceful, sound state of mind. I’m excited to watch his journey, and continue on with his training when he gets home. It’s going to be so hard to not have him with me for a month, but I know this is the best decision for him to be the happiest, healthiest dog he can be.”

Tartick met and adopted Teddy from Wags & Walks, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from euthanasia shelters, on Valentine’s Day this year.
