Jason Kelce Reveals Mixed Feelings About Eagles’ Playoff Run - suong

Jason Kelce, a six-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler was a cornerstone of the Philadelphia Eagles for over a decade. His leadership helped secure the team’s historic Super Bowl LII victory in 2017, but his final seasons were bittersweet.

The Eagles narrowly lost Super Bowl LVII to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, a game where Kelce famously faced off against his brother, Travis. In 2023, the team collapsed late in the season, losing six of their final seven games, including a 32-9 Wild Card blowout against the Buccaneers—Kelce’s last NFL appearance.

Reflecting on the Eagles’ current playoff run, Kelce shared his mixed emotions on Philadelphia sports radio "94 WIP".

“I’m very much happy for all of the guys there,” Kelce said. “All of the coaches, all of the players.”

While Kelce celebrates their success, part of him still longs for the camaraderie of the locker room.

“Of course, I’m one season out of it, so I do have some part of me that wishes I could be there,” Kelce admitted. “But you know, it was my time. I still feel like I made the right decision. This is the way it goes.”

Kelce retired following the 2023 season, ending an illustrious 13-year career marked by durability and excellence.

Playing in 176 consecutive regular-season games, he left the field as one of the most beloved figures in Eagles history. However, his transition to broadcasting on ESPN’s Monday Night Football and co-hosting the popular "New Heights" podcast with his brother has kept him connected to the sport.

As the Eagles prepare to face the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round after a dominant 14-3 regular season and a 22-10 Wild Card victory over the Packers, Kelce remains both a proud observer and a former competitor.

While he acknowledges the challenges of watching from the sidelines, his legacy remains firmly etched in Philadelphia’s football history.
