Jamie Borthwick gives four-word statement on romance with Strictly co-star Tasha Ghouri - suong

EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star Jamie Borthwick has broken his silence about the swirling rumours of a romance with Strictly co-star Tasha Ghouri.

The pair appeared together on the most recent series of the hit BBC dance show and rumours emerged that they were growing close following Tasha's split from her Love Island boyfriend Andrew Le Page.

Strictly runner-up Tasha revealed earlier this year that she and Andrew had ended their two-and-a-half year relationship, despite issuing a bold statement before stepping onto the dancefloor for the first time saying they would "marry each other one day". Now Jamie has broken his silence on the romance rumours, telling the Mirror, "Tasha is my sister."

They've reportedly been growing close following Tasha's split

Chatting to us at the The TV Choice Awards 2025 at The London Hilton on Park Lane about what he thinks of the speculation, Jamie said, "I laugh. We both laugh. You guys have provided us with entertainment. Tasha is my sister.”

And when asked whether she was definitely in "the sibling zone", Jamie replied: "Yes! We’re like siblings.".

Rumours that things were heating up between the two escalated after they were spotted heading back to their hotel together following rehearsals for the Strictly Live tour, which started in January.

A source claimed after Tasha's split from Andrew, who she met on the 2022 series of Love Island, that while Tasha was "madly in love with Andrew" prior to her joining Strictly, cracks soon began to show.

“She gave her all in that competition," a source told the Sun. "Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by. Now she's going off on tour she's going to be away from Andrew again. They talked about ending their relationship at the start of January and she's pretty much heading out on the Strictly tour as a single woman."

The couple were seemingly going strong before Tasha's Strictly journey with pro Aljaž Škorjanec. The former couple were puppy parents to pooch Luna, had matching rose tattoos, and even bought a house together at the start of 2024.

In December, Tasha was asked if a proposal could be coming and told OK!: "That’s a question for Andrew! But of course, there is no one else for me and Andrew is who I want to spend the rest of my life with."

Following the split, Tasha reportedly set up a profile on celebrity dating app Raya, and included snaps she's previously shared on her public Instagram account.
