Jalen Hurts Speculation Swirling After Eagles Announce QB Move - suong

The No. 2 seed Philadelphia Eagles are primed for a wild card matchup against the No. 7 seed Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles' biggest question mark heading into this first-round playoff matchup is the status of star quarterback Jalen Hurts, who's been in the NFL's concussion protocol since suffering a head injury in the first quarter of Week 16's loss to the Washington Commanders.

Primary backup Kenny Pickett took over as the Eagles' starter in Week 17, but was then ruled out with a ribs injury of his own. Third-string QB Tanner McKee made the start for Philadelphia's Week 18 win over the New York Giants.

Amid these quarterback injury issues, the Eagles signed former Notre Dame signal caller Ian Book as a reserve option.

On Tuesday, the Eagles announced the decision to waive Book.

NFL fans believe this QB move bodes well for Hurts' chances to return to the field in Sunday's wild card matchup.

"They told everyone to relax lol. QB1 is back," one wrote.

"Playoff Jalen activate," another added.

"OUR SWEET PRINCE IS BACK," another said.

"Eagles back down to their usual 3 QBs. (Here’s your hint Jalen Hurts will be fine for Sunday)," another wrote.

On Monday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni announced that Hurts is still progressing through the league's concussion protocol. While that injury update sparked some concern, this quarterback move serves as a good indicator that QB1 will be back in action this weekend.
