Jalen Hurts was checked for a concussion during his Philadelphia Eagles’ game against the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Thursday night.
Hurts’ Eagles had a 3rd-and-goal at the Washington 3-yard line just before halftime and tried a shovel pass to get rid of the ball as he was being tackled. Although he got rid of the ball, Hurts had his head smashed down into the turf as he was being tackled.
Hurts exited the game and entered the medical tent on the sideline for evaluation. He was eventually cleared by medical personnel and returned when the Eagles had the ball in the second half.
The Eagles were able to kick a field goal before halftime for their first points of the game. Hurts also led the Eagles to a second field goal during the team’s first possession of the third quarter. Hurts then scored the Eagles' first touchdown of the game on a one-yard run.
