The Philadelphia Eagles are the furthest thing from considering trading quarterback Jalen Hurts, but, if general manager Howie Roseman would happen to shop the Super Bowl MVP, at least one top analyst suggests he’d command a massive package in return.
ESPN’s Bill Barnwell put together a list of each team’s most valuable players and their respective trade value, and he came to the conclusion that if the Eagles traded Hurts, he’d be worth at least two first-round picks.
“Are there teams that wouldn’t be willing to mold their offense to fit Hurts’ style of play? I suppose,” Barnwell writes of Hurts. “It’s their loss. In Jeremy Fowler’s recent story polling league execs, Hurts was valued as the league’s ninth-best quarterback, which reflects reality: There are some in the league who never believed in him as a viable starter and some who see his style of play and injury concerns as worrisome over the long term. There are others who note the slowdowns the Eagles have had in the passing game in the second half of the 2023 and 2024 seasons and wonder what Hurts would do without a great offensive line and the threat of the run game.
“At the same time, Hurts is propelling the run game forward, both with his actual running and his gravity as a potential threat to keep the football. He has dropped his interception rate below 1.5% in two of the past three seasons, and while he does take too many sacks, that’s his only statistical weakness as a passer. He has also been lights-out in the postseason, arguably outplaying Patrick Mahomes in each of their two Super Bowl matchups. There’s a wider range of opinions on Hurts than other star quarterbacks, but he’s a 26-year-old with a meaningful MVP push and two Super Bowl appearances in the past three seasons.”
Few quarterbacks have delivered the kind of results Hurts has, winning a Super Bowl and appearing in two while reaching the playoffs in each of his first three seasons as the Eagles’ starting quarterback, which understandably would make him a hot commodity across the league.
Through his first five seasons, Hurts has established himself as a 64-percent passer for 14,667 yards with 85 touchdowns to 39 interceptions while boasting a 6-3 postseason record with a championship ring on his finger.
While some teams might view Hurts as a product of his supporting cast that includes the likes of Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and the premier offensive line in the sport, Hurts’ consistency, ability to create opportunities in the ground game as well as pushing the offense vertical are unique traits that would give him the opportunity to start for the majority of teams across the NFL.
Eagles’ Offensive Line Continues to Garner Massive Respect

Mitchell Leff | GettyPhiladelphia Eagles stalwart, Lane Johnson, remains among the NFL’s premier offensive tackles.
A critical key to the Eagles’, and Hurts’, success is boasting one of the NFL’s most dominant offensive lines.
That trend figures to continue in 2025, as Philadelphia opens the season with two of the top candidates to win this season’s “Protector of The Year” Award, in offensive tackles Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata.
Johnson and Mailata form one of the most consistently dominant offensive tackle duos in the sport, and are fresh off a 2024 season in which they combined to allow just one sack and 24 total quarterback pressures as a backbone of the Eagles’ run to a Super Bowl championship.
If Johnson, Mailata, and the rest of the Eagles’ offensive line can stay healthy and continue playing at an elite level, Philadelphia’s offense once again figures to be among the most prolific in the league.
