CELEBRITY: SAS star Adam Collard has blamed his bad boy past for the miscarriage his fiancée Laura Woods suffered.
The ex-Love Island hunk opened up about the devastating loss, which occurred just months before he took part in the brutal Channel 4 series, admitting he felt it was “bad karma” for his unsavoury behaviour on the ITV2 dating show.
ITV football host Laura got pregnant a month later and had their first child in January, but Adam says the miscarriage at 11 weeks resulted in mental torture — and a reflection on his past.
He explained: “I know it’s a terrible way to look at it, but I felt like it was bad karma for me being on dating shows and upsetting too many people.
“I felt like that was some high power’s way of being like, ‘Well, there you go, that’s what you have to carry’.
“So it was a lot and I’ve worked on it now, but before SAS, I didn’t get a chance. It was so soon.”
Personal trainer Adam began dating Laura, who fronted the recent Women’s Euros coverage, in October 2023 and they got engaged last September.
Adam was once a major lothario, appearing on Love Island in 2018 and again in 2022, when he was brought back as a bombshell.
He says one of the reasons he signed up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which starts on Sunday, was to prove he is now a changed man, admitting: “I was just a cocky little p***k, being a love rat jumping from girl to girl.
“I want to show I’m not that man any more. I’ve changed so much.
“The people back home know me for me. And I think that’s what the nice thing is about SAS, you’ll see who I am now.”
There’s certainly no hiding place on the show.
