Sutton Stracke suggested that Kyle Richards should hire attorneys and file for divorce from Mauricio Umansky on Season 14, Episode 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — but has she followed her friend's advice?
Kyle explained on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show that while she heard what Sutton had to say when they got together on the rooftop on the show, she ultimately didn't take the advice. "At the end of the day, I have to do what feels right to me," Kyle said while sitting alongside castmate Erika Jayne. "And I did not feel ready to go do that, and I'll know when that's time to do that."
Kyle went on to explain that while she recognizes that Sutton felt burned by her ex during her own divorce, she's confident that the same thing will not be happening to her.
"People don't know our relationship, and I trust him," Kyle said about The Agency owner. "And I know for women who have been burned, they're coming from a place of, 'I don't want what happened to you to happen to me.'"
She added, "While I appreciate it, my situation's, you know — I have to live for what I'm going through and not take on all of that, too."
Why Sutton Stracke advised Kyle Richards to file for divorce
Sutton explained her motivations in the same RHOBH After Show clip.
"I got a bit bamboozled with my ex-husband," she said, referring to her 2016 split from Christian Stracke. "So, I wanted to impart my wisdom to my friend who I'm seeing going through this very strange separation, in my eyes, and I want to tell her, 'Look, just file.' I want her to do it first before he does it to her."
When will Kyle Richards file for divorce from Mauricio Umansky?
Mauricio and Kyle are still not legally divorced, nor have they started any formal proceedings to officially separate. What's more, neither has shared when — or if — they plan to file.
