Inside the MAFS friendship breakdown NOBODY saw coming: Dave Hand and Billy Belcher's wild plans - and why it all fell apart - suong

Married At First Sight's Dave Hand and Billy Belcher, once inseparable mates with grand plans for a podcast, clothing line and a Bali getaway, are now barely on speaking terms.

The close friendship has reportedly crumbled, leaving fans and castmates bewildered.

Insiders tell Daily Mail Australia the rift began when Billy, 31, started doing solo club appearances, breaking a pact the two made to do everything together.

'It seemed like Billy chose clout over friendship,' one source revealed.

'It's a shock to all of us. They were so close, planning all these ventures,' another insider said.

The pair were even set to announce their bromance at the reunion, with plans to move in together in Melbourne.

'They were being a bit too ambitious. It's just disappointing,' one cast member shared.

Billy denied the pair had had a falling out, insisting to Daily Mail Australia: 'We are tight'.

Eliot Donovan's unexpected rise to TikTok fame and videos starring other cast members left Dave and Billy feeling like they were wasting their time and not making the most of their 15 minutes of fame.

'Billy was ready to break all the rules and just cash in, where up until recently Dave wanted to follow Nine's rules,' the source explained.

The pair were tipped to be the next Al Perkins and Brent Vitiello, but as viewers know that friendship also didn't last.

According to the insider, Dave feels like he's on a different path from Billy, with his sights set on bigger plans.

'I don't feel like I need to get involved in all the bullshit,' Dave reportedly remarked, suggesting he's ready to move on from the drama.

When questioned about the drama, Dave did admit he was on a 'different' path to Billy.

Billy and Dave's close friendship first came to light when the pair confessed to breaking MAFS rules to spend time together outside of filming.

From sneaky gym sessions to spa dates, their bromance quickly became one of the most talked-about relationships of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, Billy gushed about his friendship with Dave, calling him his 'rock' throughout the process.

'It was really nice to have someone there for me, and vice versa,' Billy said.

'To have Dave with me throughout the show was so important. I had him like a wall I could bounce off when things got hard.'

Billy also revealed how they secretly met up, despite the show's strict rules.

'We was even going to the gym together at times, which we wasn't allowed to do, and having little spa dates. Things like that,' he confessed.

'I can't lie, I had a cry watching Dave's wedding back on TV,' he admitted.

'Now look, I know Dave's a teddy bear, so I knew there was possibly gonna be some kind of emotional side to it. But watching it... God, it hit me. I was there like a blubbery mess. I had to get my tissues out. I was like, "Oh no! What am I doing?"'

Dave also had nothing but praise for Billy, calling him his 'favourite groom' of the season and revealing they hit it off immediately at the bucks' party.

'Throughout the nigh we connected, looking at each other and pulling faces, and we knew that we'd get along straight away,' Dave shared.

'I couldn't wait to see him when we moved into the apartments. He really was a solid rock for me in that experiment.'
