Tilly was married to Simon — who co-developed the animated sitcom, which has been airing on Fox since 1989 — from 1984 to 1991.

“My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created ‘The Simpsons,’” Tilly — an actress-turned-professional poker player — shared with inquiring producers, explaining that they were married for seven years and together for about 10.

“When we got divorced, I got a piece of ‘The Simpsons’ in the divorce settlement,” she went on, noting that “nobody knew” the program “was gonna go on for trillions of years.”

“So every day — honestly, every day — I’m like, ‘Thank you, Sam,’” she added.
