Scheana Shay reunited with her ex-husband, Mike Shay, for an important reason.
On the January 31 episode of the “Scheananigans With SCheana Shay” podcast, the veteran “Vanderpump Rules” star revealed that she had lunch with her ex so she could give him a heads-up about her upcoming memoir, “My Good Side.”
“We went and got lunch last week,” Shay told her podcast listeners. “I wanted to tell him about it in person. I didn’t want him to find out about it online.“
She continued, “I was very honest, I told him that I do speak about our relationship. And he was like, ‘You know what? It’s your book. I don’t care. It’s your story.’ And he was genuinely happy for me… And who knows? Maybe one day we’ll be sitting in this room discussing it together. We’ll see.”
Scheana Shay Hadn’t Talked to Mike in a While

Shay married her first husband in 2014 and their wedding was featured on “Vanderpump Rules.” In an interview on “The Tomorrow Show With Kevin Undergaro,” Shay talked about having to give her ex $50,000 as part of their divorce settlement in 2017. “He deserved it for just being a part of the show for so long and my life and my story. And I’m like, ‘Look, I’m not trying to like cut you out and leave you high and dry so here’s how much we have is that okay,’ and he agreed,” she said, per E! News.
In a February 2024 interview with Bravo TV, Shay noted she hadn’t talked to her ex as much since marrying her second husband Brock Davies. “I usually text him every year on his birthday,” she explained. “I think when I got into my relationship with Brock and then he saw, you know, I now have a child, he’s respected that boundary. And he doesn’t really reach out, but I still do to check in and just make sure he’s doing OK. I mean, he’s someone I’ve known since I was 15.”
On “Scheananigans,” she explained why she chose to keep Shay’s last name after their divorce. “I have built a professional career as Scheana Shay,” she said. “I mean, my businesses, my retirement, my will, my trust, my houses, my everything is tied up in this name.”
She also reiterated that she is “Mrs. Scheana Davies” in all other areas of her life. “And also, I did recently have lunch with [Mike] and I asked him point blank. And it does not bother him either. So it doesn’t bother the ex-husband, it doesn’t bother the current husband, then I don’t know why it bothers all of you.” she said.
Scheana Shay Announced Her Memoir in January
In January, Shay posted to Instagram to announce her upcoming memoir, titled “My Good Side,” which will be released in July 2025.
In addition to her marriages to Mike Shay and Brock Davies, Shat will dish on another relationship she was in. A synopsis from Hatchette Book Group revealed that Shay will recount “jaw-dropping stories from her Hollywood black book, including setting the record straight on her relationship with Eddie Cibrian.”
Cibrian was married to “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville when Shay met him. He is now married to singer LeAnn Rimes.
