“If ratings matter more than human decency, I’ll excuse myself from the circus.”
Janet Caperna has officially walked away from The Valley — and she’s not looking back.
In a searing statement recorded for the latest episode of her podcast This Side Of The Hill, the 38-year-old reality star confirmed she will not be returning for Season 2, citing months of violent harassment, online abuse, and what she calls Bravo’s “dangerous silence” in the face of escalating threats against her family.
“I didn’t sign up to be terrorized in my own home. I didn’t agree to sacrifice my son’s safety so strangers could watch edited arguments and leave death threats under photos of my toddler. I’m done,” Janet said bluntly.
This marks the first time a Valley cast member has publicly exited the franchise citing mental and emotional trauma inflicted by fan culture and production indifference.
According to internal emails leaked to DailyMail+, Janet had begged producers to make a public statement denouncing the targeted hate — especially after one burner account allegedly referenced her child’s school and listed the names of extended family members.
“They told her to turn off her comments and post less,” one insider reveals. “That was their fix — not security, not support. Just... silence.”
Behind the scenes, Janet had already stopped filming pick-ups, reunion pre-roll, and Season 2 teasers, even as her name remained attached to marketing materials.
But the final decision came when she reportedly received a DM saying, ‘I hope your son hates you as much as we do.’
“I vomited. Literally vomited,” she said. “And Bravo still asked if I’d do a group dinner scene.”
Janet’s husband Jason had allegedly urged her to pull out weeks earlier, concerned by the network’s refusal to acknowledge the severity of the threats.
“They cared more about the cliffhanger than the consequences,” a friend close to the couple shared. “So she chose sanity over screen time.”
As for the future?
“I don’t need to be famous. I need to be alive. And I need my family to feel safe again. I’m reclaiming that. Off-camera,” Janet declared.
Bravo has yet to release a formal statement.
